Elfin Growth Heavy Duty Onion/Sheep Shear, Carbon Steel Blade, 13-Inch Long

Not the best quality but is pretty good for the price so that is why it gets four stars. I have hair sheep and dont usually need to shear but one has trouble shedding her wool this spring before lambing. A pair that looks similar is $40 or $50 at the local farm store so I thought I'd give these a try in case it was a one time use.

Worked fine for shearing the blankets off of my alpacas. Struggled a bit on the neck where the fleece is extremely thick, but even electric shears get bogged down there. I bought this to cut edge grass. But the blades came dull. About 1cm of the tip the blades do not touch. That's the most important part! And it looks likes like some kids just spray painted it. Not very professional.

The tips cut well for using in the garden for trimming grasses, etc. Otherwise the body of the blade does not cut as well. Thin cheap plastic holster holds it closed when not in use. wouldn't recommend.

Don't know about the sheep, but works great trimming grass at the yard!Thought that it worked and it does!!

Use these in my flower garden. They work great for that purpose. Keep them lubricated and they are perfect.

This is such a poor product. I bought it to hand shear my sheep but this will not even cut paper. Wish I had used it within the return period. Now I'm stuck with a piece of worthless junk. Save your money and buy something that actually works. I'm giving it a 1 rating because I can't give it a zero.
