Pet Homing Tag Collar Cover/Holder These covers hold homing tags tightly flat against your pets' collar which keeps the tag from dangling into water while also being far less bulky and heavy than the standard covers available. While these are not waterproof they do help keep the homing tags out of water while your cat drinks and protect the tag from dirt and debris. The cover also has a vinyl window that allows the blinking red light to shine through in the dark.

Does what it should
The picture is a little misleading and the description was sparse, so I thought I would write a review. What I received was a pack of 4 little red sleeves. They are made of a stretchy neoprene like fabric, with a little cut out that has a clear vinyl/plastic cover. You pass the sleeve over your existing collar (the collar is not included) and then stretch the sleeve wide to fit the loc8tor tag in. The clear cut out is meant to show the red LED light on the tag. I doubt the whole unit is waterproof, but if your pet doesn't go swimming I think it'll keep the loc8tor tag dry and safe. It is extremely secure, and I have no worries about the tag falling out. I had a thin cat collar, and it was a tight fit to get the tag in there. If you had a larger collar it may not fit.The price is great and the sleeves do exactly what I want them to - keep the tag free of water bowls and incidental water contact.

Works well as advertised but my cat is ornery
This is definitely worth a try, because if your cat isn't ornery like mine then it works just as advertised. It's not hard to get onto the collar and holds the tag securely, and would certainly solve the problem of the tag dangling into a water dish. Looks very nice, too. Unfortunately, my cat doesn't seem to like any sort of a bump behind her collar (it really isn't much on this device) or else the bump just lets her easily take off the collar, not sure which. She probably would wear it outside when distracted by all the wonders of the world, but while grooming at home she just bites at it and the breakaway collar gets pulled off in the process. Maybe it just feels in the way to her. She did exactly the same thing with the water protectors sold with the tags when I first got them several years ago. So she's back to having the tag dangle down off her collar, wrapped in clear shipping tape plus duct tape …. But I might try again with different types of collars, such as a stretchy type of safety collar, or maybe a future cat won't do as she does unless she teaches it (oh, dear). Have to go along with kitty's preferences, though. It really is a great little device regardless and obviously most cats don't do what mine does.

Just be aware of the distance limitations, which are clearly listed
I was pleasantly surprised at how small both the collar tags and the handheld scanner are. The covers that come with the tags are pretty useless, unless you have a cat the size of a mountain lion, but I found a small cloth cover with a plastic window that covers the receiver/light on the tag, and that works well. The tag fits very securely on the cat's collar, and I've had no problems with it coming off. The small hand-held receiver takes a little getting used to - it is really small, and practice with it inside is a good idea so you can be secure in how it indicates the location of the cat. The distance is limited, which is clearly stated in the manual, but I still found it useful when my tiny cat got out of the yard; I was able to locate her in a neighbor's yard pretty easily. It works for me!

Homing Tag Collar Cover/Holder (4 Pack)
This product works well and it is as tight as some of the other reviewers have stated but it holds you tag very securely to the collar. It holds the tag parallel to the collar so it doesn't hang into their water bowl and is less likely to get caught. The photo and description say the covers are red, but they are white. I have a black cat with a red collar and a red tag so the white is a little bright. It looks like he has a bandage on his neck. But otherwise I would recommend this product.

Great little product
This is a great product for attaching the loc8tor plus to my cat's collar -- keeps it from getting into the food or water bowls or getting caught on furniture. It also allows the LED light to show through. I found that putting it on the collar first & then inserting the tag works best, using needle nose pliers to open it up first. It was much easier using it the next time once I got the knack of putting it on. My cat doesn't mind the extra few ounces of weight or bulk.

Skeptical at first,,,
These are OK for keeping your Loca8or fob out of a water bowl, and secure to a collar, but zero on waterproofing: Both ends are open, You will need to make a couple mods.I wrapped my Loca8or fob with the little finger cut off a surgical glove. Totally cheap and totally waterproof. You could get the same result with a long balloon over the fob with excess folded under the fob before fastening down.. Pardon my french but a waterproof "fob condom" for quick-cheap and effective waterproofing The Loca8or fobs will die if they get damp and these won't protect them against moisture. So... I first put the water proof membrane over the fob and this over the whole works with a tie wrap on both ends. It was a little tricky but doable. I used some tweezers and surgical forceps to work this over the fob. These will protect a waterproof membrane from getting torn.~~~~~~~~~~~~~1 month update: Holding together GREAT with 12-15 hrs of daily outdoor (rural expedition) use. The kitty collar is freyed and in worse shape than the fob protectors. I might mention these won't fit on a collar much wider than 3.8". I am using inexpensive nylon braided cat collar with a quick release hasp. Easy on-off and secure.

Much smaller than the waterproof cover that came with the Loc8tor
These covers are a much better fit than the silicone covers that ship with the Pet Loc8tor. Not nearly as bulky. With the original cover my cat always seemed a bit annoyed by the homing tag but now doesn't seem to know it's there. It may not be as waterproof as the original but my cat's not big on sitting out in the rain so so far i haven't had a problem.

Nice idea - wish they were bigger
I ordered these in hopes that it would fit my dogs GPS attachement - unfortunately they are way to small. The product is nice and made for just smaller tags - only about 1 1/2 inches long and 1/2 wide.
