This book is a great reference for those planning to go on a Keto diet or just for those that are interested in learning more first. The information provided along with a comprehensive 28 day plan does a great job at motivating you to start the diet. To many a high fat, low carb diet may seem counter-intuitive, but the book explains why the diet works and the science behind it. The restriction of carbohydrates causes your body to go into a state of ketosis where stored fat is burned and used up as fuel for the body. I've tried similar diets to Keto in the past but I was still eating too much carbs and not quite enough fat, this book has helped in fine tuning my diet to get to ketosis quicker and more efficiently.The diet is outlined and a 28 day meal plan is given to the reader and that makes the diet easier to follow and stick with. There is also room for some customization of the meals so the plan is very doable if you do some planning ahead. You're told in advance of what to expect and what health benefits are possible, so there are no surprises. The recipes in the book taste great and are filling, they don't taste like typical diet food. Each recipe includes serving size, nutritional information, prep time, a list of ingredients required, and clear and easy to follow directions. There are also many helpful tips and advice to make things go more smoothly and lists of foods to eat and foods to avoid.In addition to the Keto information, guide, and meal plans, this book has served as a great source of wonderful recipes to try and I would recommend it. A Revamped Way to Diet
I am one of those always on a diet or more accurately trying to eat healthier people. I love finding and learning about the new ways to eat healthy and if I can still eat the foods that I love that is a huge bonus. The Keto in 28 Diet and Meal Plan book gives me everything that I want from a diet. I love the low carb, high fat and protein approach that makes being healthy easy and tastier than other options I have tried, you get to eat a lot of your favorite foods, just limit carb intake.The Keto in 28 has very detailed recipes that are easy to follow, even for a novice chef. There are detailed weekly meal plans that you can flow or substitute a recipe that you really liked from previous week and each week has a shopping list that you can just bring with you to the store and get everything you need. I was able to find most of the ingrediants at my local grocer or my local Whole Foods. The recipes are so tasty that my husband has even joined me in the food and that is not like him at all. If you are looking for a different kind of diet/healthy eating plan than this is a good one to try.I received this book at a discount for my unbiased review and opinion. I've been trying to find new and good for me meals to take to work and easy ...
I'm definitely a carb loving person that needs to cut back and have never thought that may be why I'm tired all the time. I've never heard of a keto lifestyle but received this book to review and it has opened me up to new options when it comes to making meals. I've been trying to find new and good for me meals to take to work and easy to make when I get home to help me cut back on eating out and filling up on starches and this was the right book for me.I love how I get meal planning help and recipes so I can go to the store with meals already mapped out in my head, instead of grabbing what's on sale or sounds good at the time. My favorite part of this book, is the fact that the ingredients are things I know, I hate trying to find something new to try and there's ingredients you've never heard of or something you can't use in multiple dishes. This was a good read and really opened my eyes to some new things, I don't know if I will be able to follow the keto lifestyle long term but there's definitely some yummy things in here for me to venture out to. Just Do This!
I am only into Week 2, but have already dropped 6 lbs while eating delicious foods in portion sizes I sometimes can't even finish! More importantly even than the weight loss, though, is that I immediately felt and functioned better physically. 3 years ago I had my second hip replaced. The surgery was easy and the healing was complete. However, through a process of acting on wrong-headed but very assertive medical advice, I ended up taking statins, as they had discovered a very small amount of "stuff" in one artery and didn't want it to get worse. So they treated it as if it was already serious by prescribing a really high level of station.. I was obviously allergic, as I began having bad reactions immediately and finally was motivated to stop taking them when I almost lost the use of my legs due to the muscle and nerve pain I was experiencing. For most of the last 3 years, I have had to coax my legs to do what they needed to do. I walked slowly and with pain. I drug myself upstairs by the banister with my legs semi-following along complaining every step of the way. One knee had begun to bother me enough that I was afraid more surgery would be imminent. Blah-de-blah-blah-blah. All that to say all this. Today, coming out of WalMart, I noticed a car waiting for me to cross and without even thinking twice, I RAN across the crosswalk! Two weeks ago I tried to run just a couple of steps and could NOT get my legs to do it! It may not sound huge to you, but it's huge to me. I. RAN. TODAY!!!!! And the only thing I've changed is my eating. I followed the Week 1 plan almost exactly. And now I'm into Week 2. I'm not experiencing cravings. They talk about Keto Flu, but if I had it at all, it lasted less than a day and was kind of my farewell to what I had begun to accept as bad moods that I and everyone around me would just have to learn to live with. Wrong! I haven't been in a bad mood in 10 days! Again, maybe not so much to you - but HUGE to me!! (And my husband doesn't mind either.). So all in all, I started on the Keto plan because my son, my sister and my niece were raving about it and I thought I might try one more time to lose some weight. But I'm staying on it because my energy levels are up, my body doesn't hurt, I'm feeling satiated and satisfied and keep being surprised that it's already time to eat again and, did I mention this -- I RAN TODAY!!! At this rate, I'll reach my goal weight way before my 70th birthday. Marathons? Probably not. -- wouldn't want to embarrass all you younger folk. I could not recommend this way of eating more highly and this book gives such an easy start - providing you enjoy trying new recipes and hearing yourself and others raving rather than craving. It will take awhile before I can cook this way intuitively and maintain the right balance, but what a worthwhile learning curve it is!

Excellent Keto Book!!
This is one of the best introduction to Keto books I have read. Very easy to understand and great recipes that don’t require a chef to make. I would recommend this book to anyone starting the Keto lifestyle.

Great resource!
I just started Keto two weeks ago, and I'm glad I bought this recipe book. I'm particularly happy that the recipes use ingredients that can easily be found at any local supermarket. The Keto Guide at the beginning, which gives some basic information about the Keto way of eating is also very helpful. I definitely recommend.
