Vornado AVH10 Space Heater for Home, Fan Only Option, Digital Display with Adjustable Thermostat, Advanced Safety Features, Auto Climate Control, Whole Room Electric Heater for Indoors

First let me say that I wanted a heater for my small bathroom...so my thoughts are based on that. Secondly, I did some research on Consumer Reports before coming to read Amazon reviews. CR recommended this model. Thirdly, I am laughably noise sensitive...so that too shades my comments. Last, I have had good luck with Vornado fans and we have about three of them that we use in the summer months.* I am happy with this heater! It a bit bigger than I had hoped to find, but it works well in the space anyway* It is quiet....not as quiet as I wish...but nothing really is and I think that this heater is about the quietest I have used. I am content with the minimal noise level.* it is relatively attractive.* it is very easy to use. It has a setting for low, high and fan. The thermostat seems to work quite well. I set it for 70, and 70 is what my analog, old school, thermometer, confirms. Whats more the heat level seems to remain very consistent.When I was researching small space heaters the information seemed a bit overwhelming, the reviews all over the place and very inconsistent in terms of star ratings and comments. Lets not even talk about the kinds of heaters too numerous to really compare. I was happy to have CR reports to refer to. The Amazon reviews of this heater might have deterred me, but l took a chance and went by CR’s choice (even their heater reviews were not very consistent or high).Thus far I am very happy with my choice. Time will tell. Vornado’s “in box” paperwork says they “will make things right” if an issue comes up. We’ll see about that too. Hopefully my luck with Vornado products will hold.Right now I am happy to walk into a consistently warm bathroom! It is far better than the last two very compact heaters we have gotten from Ace Hardware. They were so much noisier and the thermostats went “wonky” after a time. Sometimes the temperature would be right on, and then sometimes, without changing a thing, the thermostat went into overdrive and the room would be 10 degrees warmer. I am glad that I can rest a bit easier now with a product name I tend to trust.

this is an amazing heater for one medium large room. It will heat up the room about 3-4 more degrees more than what you started with and hold it there if your room has the door open and is not shut off from other rooms. It does not heat up the room more than 4-5 degrees, regardless of what temperature you start with in this case . I use it in an 12x14 room. BUT If your room is shut off, this little heater will heat up to whatever temperature you have it set for and automatically turn off/on as it senses the temperature. It is sooooo quiet that more than once I thought it had turned off. The lowest setting is quieter than an oil diffuser that I have. The highest speed is barely noticeable. The fan alone is a bit more noisy and not particularly effective. But for a quiet heater in an average sized room it is great. There is a mechanism on the bottom that senses if the heater is off balance or tilted or knocked over and will cause the heater to turn off - good safety feature.01/01/20 - Into it's second season and working great.01/01/2020 - I purchased a second heater about two weeks ago and had to return it because it did not heat up.

It’s hard to believe that such a small heater can do such a great job of heating a larger room but it does! I read the reviews online and on Amazon and they were very positive. The reviews are accurate. It is small but mighty. It is light enough to easily carry it to another room and it can be set to the temperature that you want to have. I have found that it maintains that set temperature without any issues.One caveat, a safety measure built in to the heater is that if you lift it or carry it and set it back down, it has an automatic shutoff and must be turned back on again. I believe that if you have animals or small children it is a great addition and it is so simple to press a button and turn it back on again.I think that it is terrific and very worth the cost. I have not seen my electric bill increase, even using it every day. I have not turned on my whole-house heating since I bought this small but mighty heater!
