Does what it is supposed to
I purchased a striker at the local big box store. It was marked with the name of a prominent American welding equipment manufacturer. It looked just like the ones I used 30 years ago, but it would either not make a spark or it would jam after making a spark. I couldn't understand what possible user error I was committing. It turned out that despite the name on it, the striker I purchased was cheap Chinese junk. I'd like to know how they managed to make such a seemingly simple tool not function, but I suppose if you have to make it and ship it 5000 miles and sell it at a retail price of less than $5 something has to give. The Forney striker is made in USA, is made correctly, and works correctly. I can afford the extra $4 for a product that works. I'm glad there is still a company that would rather do things correctly that offer an inferior product at a lower price.

Great for lighting camping propane and butane/propane stoves
Just like the title says, it works great for the purpose I bought it- lighting my butane/propane mix camping stove without singing my finger hairs every time. Another BIG plus is that you can pack it in your check-on airline bags, unlike bic or barbeque lighters.

Gotta love that it’s made in USA
I fully support USA made products, I lost my sparker and needed a new one, found this one USA made and ordered it. In my hands it sparks really nice, no problems with build quality, just a fine sparker, my MC tank is happy now it has a sparker again.

Love that it is U.S. made!
See, we CAN make things here in the U.S.A.! This is a fine flint striker. I keep it attached via carabiner to my propane torch canister for use when I'm burning off driveway weeds. So much easier (and probably safer) than carrying around a lighter! Spark is strong and lights first time. Mechanism is reliable, and the price was exceptional for a good quality product. I also like that you can easily buy replacement flints here on Amazon. Although I think it's going to be awhile before I need to replace a flint. Highly recommend this quality tool.

Forget the strikers that come with a torch...
...the one that came with my torch was garbage. This striker, on the other hand, is reliable and works great. Nothing more to say.

Super handy sparker
Works great - makes a nice big spark. It's safer and more pleasant not to have to use a fluid filled sparker on my gas stove when the electricity goes out.

Not well made
Feels cheap, not well made. I still find it hard to use for igniting my stove.

Actually Pretty Good
I purchased this as an add on item with the replacement flints. This is actually really good for the price. The even though the flint is small it makes quite a big spark.

Not that good
Yeah it's kind of flimsy and it doesn't work all the time you got to get at the right spot maybe works like 10% of time properly I wouldn't get it I'm sorry I did but that's the truth
