Another stunning book from Marcia!
I pre-ordered this book back in February, and have eagerly been awaiting its arrival! It's another wonderful book from Marcia, filled with stunning pieces! If you use the "Look Inside" feature on Amazon, you'll get an idea of how gorgeous the projects are.The book is divided into the following chapters:* Chapter 1: Tools and Supplies* Chapter 2: Fundamentals -- provides an overview of how to begin and end thread, how to knot, and the various stitches used in the book* Chapter 3: Earrings and Rings -- this chapter has six earring projects and two ring projects* Chapter 4: Bracelets -- four patterns* Chapter 5: Necklaces -- twelve patterns* Gallery -- a selection of eye candy from beaders such as Rachel Nelson-Smith, Sabine Lippert, and Met InnmonAs the sub-title suggests, all of the projects involve pieces that have some sort of movement to them. To highlight this, within each set of directions is a box called "The Way It Moves" that highlights the movement of that particular piece. This is a nice feature since it's not always obvious to me how each piece moves when just looking through the photos.Speaking of the photos, Marcia mentions in her intro that she purposefully picked a neutral color palette for all the samples in her book so that they would work together within a wardrobe. That being said, she encourages the reader to still play with color. The only piece that looks familiar to me is the beautiful Rings of Saturn that graces the cover; the other projects look to be new. Rings of Saturn is so gorgeous and unique that that one project alone makes this book worthwhile, even if it didn't include all of the other wonderful projects. As with all Lark books, the instructions and diagrams seem to be excellent, with plenty of detail. In fact, in the Afterword, Marcia mentions that one of her new interests has been using her background in information systems to create instructions that make better use of the available software and that she created all of the instructions. They really are easy to follow.Unlike her first book, which focused on RAW, this second book of Marcia's uses a variety of stitches, including chevron, cubic RAW, ladder, St. Petersburg, netting, and peyote.Since it's not a Master Class book, it's softbound instead of hardbound, but beading from it isn't a pain since the pages lay open quite nicely -- and they stay open while working, once you give them a gentle push along the spine.Overall, if you're a fan of Marcia's wonderful work, as I am, this is a book that you will definitely want to add to your beading library!Happy beading!

Met All My Expectations!
I preordered the book and waited in anticipation. I was not disappointed! I love the concept of creating jewelry that can spin, sway, swing and slide. There is a nice Fundamentals sections illustrating all the bead stitches followed by 24 wonderful projects. There is something for everyone, from the simpler earrings and rings to the grand finale - Rings of Saturn necklace. I also loved the combination of chain with the beadwork in several projects. There are so many inspiring projects I'm having a hard time choosing which one to make first, but I'm leaning toward the Revolution Ring followed by the Carousel Bracelet and the Riveted Necklace. I highly recommend the book for great inspiration. I'm really looking forward to learning to make the various components and then perhaps combining them in new ways.

Another inspiring book by Marcia DeCoster!
I loved Marica's first book so I was excited to get this new one.The designs in this book are unique, interesting and really fun. The instructions are very detailed with lots of pictures making them very easy to follow. I loved that many of the pieces are made up of components that can be used separately in your own distinct, creative pieces. My only criticism would be that I think the photography of the pieces in the book did not do them justice. I recently took a class from Marcia at my local bead store and she displayed all of the pieces from this book. Every one of them was more beautiful in person. This would definitely be a great addition to any seadbeader's library!

the pieces are just beautiful although the directions are hard to follow at times
I love just about every piece of jewelry in this book. They are gorgeous. What has been problematic (for me) are the directions for making the pieces as they are not always clear. Maybe an advanced beader would have no problem. However, I encourage you to get this book. The designs are stunning and you will most likely figure out what to do if you get stuck.

In my opinion this book is OK
I just find the basics , as in most books, to be used as filler, and references to historical and travel a bit contrived. I was a little dissappointed in the "motion" aspect of the designs. As one reviewer stated, she had to be told why the piece was considered to have motion. This should be apparent in a book entitled as such. I do think this is a fine book, which makes it difficult to review with only 5 levels. I am thankful for the opportunity to explain my opinion. Clear direction, lovely photographs, good gallery section. I just feel that the only real thought provoking, unique and technically challenging piece in the one on the cover.

Out of this World!
Marcia is one of my idols in the beading world. I love beading that's a bit different and that's what's in this book. If you like to play with your jewelry, then this book is for you. It is full of fun ways to create jewelry that's you can play with. Lots of stuff that spins and flips and they are all so beautiful.

Content aside, this is poorly bound
If I was Lark, I would be embarrassed to put out a product as poorly bound as this one.The cover extends past the bound material so on the shelf, there is nothing to support the pages. Most soft bound books have the cover the same size as the oages. The author does have some interesting designs, lots of photos and illustrations, but when you open the book, it breaks the spine. If you like this book, I would recommend you buy a second one for then this one starts falling apart so you will not lose pages.

Always an Inspiration
Marcia's designs always inspire me. The projects in this book are all unique and the fact that each contains an element of motion, makes the finished jewelry pieces fun to wear. Marcia's directions are always easy to follow. Being a very visual learner, I really appreciate the detailed illustrations. If you ever have the opportunity to take a class with Marcia, don't miss out. And, DON'T miss this fabulous book!

Buch
In diesem Perlenbuch sind viele schöne Anregungen. Wenn es niemanden stört, dass es in Englisch geschrieben ist. Wenn man wie ich hauptsächlich nach Bildern perlt - super

Bead-o-holic
The latest book in my beading collection. I was attracted by the novelty of 'moving parts' in the jewellery. It's a fabulous book, clearly illustrated and nicely photographed. The projects are unusual and each one explains 'how it moves'. I just need more hours in the day to be able to devote to all the pieces I would like to make!
