Abundant Federal Government Job Listings
I admit that I purchased this kindlebook that is Guide to America’s Federal Jobs via Amazon by Karol Taylor and Janet M. Ruck by the March 12, 2018 timeframe with money made from university employment. The authors go into what types of jobs are available in the federal government, some websites to view related to their extensive research, benefits and other info, sample job vacancies, library of congress and related websites, committee on Indian Affairs and related websites, various law/court related websites pertaining to the federal government, a volunteer information website, a career information website, multiple military agency websites, and more. I admit that I have unexpectedly discovered by accident some listed government jobs online that do not require experience however a great deal of the jobs do require some type of experience. Some of the jobs I have been fortunate to have been referred for are related to my current experience and I humbly admit I had some help with my resume (though I must refrain from mentioning their name because I am far from certain how they would feel about me using their name in this context). This kindlebook has an extensive list of websites to look into for job research ideas which is a significant deal because usually the information in this kindlebook is something that is far from commonly found on usual online job related websites unless you often intuitively know what search words to use to glean comparable results.

A complex subject demystified
As a career counselor in the Washington DC metropolitan area, I hear stories of frustration all the time from those who would be part of the federal workforce. The federal resumes (what's that?), the KSAs (what are they?), the dead silence after you submit your application... does it ever work? Is it possible?Taylor and Ruck have tackled the subject one step at a time, making it seem much more possible. It's still daunting - always will be - but this book shows the reader that it can be done. After all, all those feds got their jobs somehow. You read stories about how many jobs will be created by workforce retirement and how many have been added by stimulus funds. But how to find them? This book gives a number of clues, heavily focusing on the internet.I think one of the best things the authors have done is sprinkle their book with definitions. Government-speak is like no other.Try these: intermittent,7(a) lender programs, noncompetitive appointment.Confused? You can get definitions in this book. And I didn't even mention acronyms, all duly explained. The list of websites, presumably up-to-date and waiting for your visit, will keep you clicking to unearth information and job possibilities. And you will definitely appreciate the sample resumes, both print and electronically formatted at the end of the book.Congratulations to Karol Taylor and Janet Ruck for providing a low-cost resource book that no career center, library, or interested job applicant should be without.

Fortunately, The Guide to America's Federal Jobs by Taylor ...
Exploring career or internship possibilities in the United States Federal Government can be a daunting task. Applying for work with a competitive application, resume or web page can be especially demanding, filled with details and intrigue. Fortunately, The Guide to America's Federal Jobs by Taylor and Ruck can make the exploration and application process more understandable so that it can be approached more readily by people seeking positions. This book is well organized and serves as a gps for navigating federal jobs while providing an understanding of how the federal government employment process works. The book can be a friendly companion while also serving as an introduction to the vast plain that we call the federal government. The book also provides terrific resources for individuals with disabilities, veterans as well as students. I have a number of family members who have worked or are working in the federal government and I have suggested the book as a helpful resource. People who serve in career and employment counseling positions will also find the book useful as they attempt to guide their clients through the opportunities in the federal government.Robert Chope, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus of CounselingSan Francisco State University

Guide to America's Federal Jobs
As a career coach, I am impressed with the ease of readability and step-by-step process that the Guide to America's Federal Jobs takes you through. The Federal Goverment job application process is unique and without a lot of guidance most will get lost. Guide to America's Federal Jobs provides excellent guidance in Federal resume preparation, KSA's and the entire application process. Another feature is the "up to date" agency websites specific to job searches. I've recommended this book to many of my clients.
