Great coffee substitute
I’ve used the product to stop drinking coffee. I did it by gradually replacing coffee with cocoa until it was all cocoa. I didn’t have withdrawals. The product does not taste like coffee and if left to cool (I used to sip from my coffee cup for a while) the taste isn’t as pleasant. I resolved that by using a thermal coffee cup. The beverage has a little bit of a fatty sheen, has a lot of body (a lot thicker than coffee) and it’s a lot more expensive than coffee. Overall, it works for me, I’ve grown accustomed to the taste and find notes of chocolate that are pleasant to me.

Awesome Alternative/Enhancement To Coffee!
I thought I'd give this a try, to mix it with coffee, to enhance its flavor, as well as try it by itself. I tried it with my Keurig, but it just didn't seem to work well, so I got a French press coffee pot, because I'd read several reviews, saying that it works best with one. After receiving the French press coffee pot, I tried it, and, WOW! The flavors it opened up, just blew my mind! Now, this sounds like a French press coffee pot review, LOL! I will say this, the Keurig is having a retirement party... Anyway, this Cacao grind, is AWESOME! It works very well by itself, and isn't as bitter as coffee. It's also awesome, mixed with coffee! I add a dash to the coffee, and it really gives my coffee an awesome flavor enhancement. In fact, ad some sugar with cream, and you have yourself the best cup of hot chocolate you've ever tasted! But... In order to release the awesome flavor of this grind, you really need a French press pot.

acquired taste
Once I got used to it, I loved it. It is NOT hot chocolate (which is good). It is much better than coffee, for sure and I love the chocolate aftertaste. It is also very warming. I was sad that I had to use a lot more than expected for each mug. So I have now ordered the extra dark. fingers crossed it does not take so much to brew a good cup.

Love it!
I have been cutting back on my morning coffee. I brewed this in my French press and was delighted! I added maple syrup and almond milk (like I do with coffee) It was delicious! I felt great, had energy and no caffeine jitters. I’m my opinion it needs a bit of sweetener and it does not taste like regular hot chocolate. It’s not supposed to. But if you are looking for an alternative to your morning cup, try this.

BEWARE! This will not brew like coffee in your coffee pot!
I put this in my coffee pot and it filled the brew basket and overflowed all over the counter and everywhere. It is so much thicker and denser than coffee grounds that it does not go through it as quickly and therefore will fill the brew basket and over flow. In addition to that, when I did get it to brew and try it, it tasted like yuck! Does not taste like chocolate, coffee, or anything else that you may be led to believe that it will. And, since it's a food product, it is non returnable.

Not much flavor
I have started to add to my regular coffee it seems to add a little flavor to coffee. All alone it is just very weak. I even doubled up the amount. Not something I will buy again but wanted to give it a try.

Not shipped - Review updated Jan 22 2025
I placed my order 22 days ago and have not received the product or any communication from Crio. Order has been cancelled and payment refunded. Update: I just received a package from Crio that contained a letter of apology, the product I originally ordered and a second package of Crio labeled “We’re Sorry” so 5 stars for going above and beyond to remedy the original order issue. They explained that due to technical issues, they never received my order. The product itself is a good quality but the end result is hard to quantify. Yes, it brews like coffee and tastes like chocolate. Adding cream and sugar makes it start to taste like hot chocolate. I think it tastes as described, it’s just something that is unusual. My wife and I have starting adding/substituting some of our regular French press coffee with Crio to add a chocolatey flavor to our daily coffee. Initial review: 1 star for non-delivery of product Revised review: 5 stars for over the top customer service, good product

Gets me through it!
Crio Bru is a must for me when I am fasting. I recently did a 14 day fast (as a self-directed cancer treatment). In the afternoon, I would feel a definite dip in energy and wonder if I could go on. This pulled me out every single day! I added some dried organic stevia leaves to the mix, then before drinking, I added a scoop of MCT powder and whizzed it up with a frother. It is delicious! Instead of an energy spike, it gives me more of a gentle, sustainable feeling of energy and well-being. LOVE this stuff!
