Q: Does anyone know if it will fit a 12 inch tall Thermos or water bottle inside the main compartment and able to close the zipper?

It fits all my “Contigo” brand drink containers with room to spare. My tallest is 10” and there are at least 2” room at the top. Did you check the dimensions in the on-line product description?

Yes, it can hold 18 cans. It is a very snug fit; but, with can lying on sides, rows of 5, 4, 5, and 4, the bag is completely full.

It’s a black bag — it’s NOT gender specific It’s no different from a brown paper bag

Q: Are all the colors made of the same material? The solid color ones seem easier to clean?

Solid ! bought purple one for mom and myself coral one I’d throw it in the washer or with a toothbrush spot clean the inside with wipes. Hopefully it helps
