"Country Gent"® Tooth Powder with Fluoride an Alternative to Toothpaste

It doesn't have much taste. It's not gritty. It doesn't have dyes, sodium laureth sulfate, other detergents, parabens and all that toxic stuff. It just has baking soda, calcium carbonate, fluoride and peppermint oil I wet my Sonicare in it, brush the bottom, dip again, brush the top, and rinse. I don't have a string of toothpaste drool hanging from my mouth to the sink with this stuff. Toothpaste burns my mouth. This does not. Diabetics could probably use this without any problem. The price is right. It came quickly. Heavenly Harvest, the company that makes it, has a lot of other good stuff in the shop. I will buy this again.Edit: It's great for my teeth, which are sometimes sensitive. I added some extra peppermint oil. That worked well. I added some cinnamon oil. Not good. I felt the burn. I don't recommend adding cinnamon oil.

I'll be honest, the taste is awful. It would be so much tolerable without Splenda mixed in. But it feels amazingly clean. My teeth feel immaculate!

This tooth powder is no better and no worse than any other. I highly objected to the religious message enclosed.......very inappropriate. Also the shipping cost matched the price of the powder...rather strange. I will never re-order.

Tastes kinda salty and feels like you are brushing with baking soda. The mint flavor is somewhat subtle, so I do not have the same minty fresh breath after brushing with this as when I use conventional toothpaste. I think it is great for traveling, but not daily use.

I prefer tooth powder over tooth paste.Tooth powder is becoming very hard to find these days!You can find it in a few Aurvedic shops, but tooth powder WITH FLORIDE is a rarity.Country Gent gives me a nice mild-minty taste and the gentle abrasion of calcium carbonate and baking soda gets my teeth much cleaner than I can get them with any paste.If you can still find Arm & Hammer Tooth Powder, stock up because the product has been discontinued.For those of us who can't find ANY tooth powder in the local pharmacy anymore, Country Gent is a great resource. Country Gent tastes better than Arm & Hammer too!

Does what it is supposed to, but it doesn't produce any lather, so that I use it combined with a fluoride-free toothpaste (too much fluoride is no good) of a harmless sort (without harmful ingredients).

Heavier than I thought. Wanted for travel, want smaller size. Floridated whichis how toothpaste works.

I originally found this tooth powder at one of the Trader Tents at a Mtn Man Rendezvous. It combined with the bone handled toothbrush is a period correct way to keep your teeth clean at an event. The taste is great and in a tin it is very easy to use. Just wet your brush and dip it in the powder. Thank you Amazon for carrying this great product for us historical re-enactors.
