Amazing value for a Compact Subwoofer
After making the rounds at the local car-audio shops in the area, being pitched on way to much gear we took a chance and ordered the JBL BASSPROSL powered subwoofer. The requirement was to add some bass to the sound system in our classic C4 Corvette that already had a mildly updated system with a new head unit and Infinity speakers replacing the stock BOSE system. The new speakers clearly lacked bass and teh whole system had a tough time keeping up with the ambient noise when cruising with the C4's top removed.Installation was straightforward, the enclosure was screwed into the carpet and padding in the cargo area. We purchased a wiring kit that came with a fuse-holder, heavy-gauge power cable, ground cable and stereo RCA signal cables. Our head unit also has a control wire to turn the subwoofer on and off so that was connected, although the unit has an auto-power feature as well. Various controls allow fine-tuning the crossover frequency and levels but we just left everything flat and used the head unit's DSP to tune the subwoofer. The only criticism about the installation is that the power terminals are uncovered, exposing them to short-circuit. That's a big mistake on JBL's part that unnecessarily taints what is otherwise a well-designed product.Performance was more impressive than we expected and as long as your expectations are realistic, you'll also be impressed. For starters, the whole system play a lot louder, with lower distortion, simply because the full-range speakers are no longer trying to make bass. The sub doesn't go down overly low, but then again neither does the materials being streamed from a phone. The biggest impact is between 80-150 Hz, where suddenly the whole system comes to dramatic life. Surprisingly good, with ample output at very acceptable distortion levels, this product is a great value for what you pay for it.

Great quality sound. Good bass boost.
Nice speaker to add bass. Sounds awesome. Super easy to install. Definitely a worthy buy. The only downside is there is no remote to control the volume. You have to manually set it at the speaker itself. Besides that, it's an amazing sounding speaker.

Great for a System enhancement
The Bass is great. A must have is the volume adjustment knob. The sound was great even during the break in period. I have only about 4 hours on the speaker but I would recommend it. The clean look is great. totally stock look, so loss of space for an enclosure in the trunk. this speaker shakes the whole car. I'm very impressed. Just enough bass with out rattling the trunk. I like to listen to old school funk and blues so it works well for my taste in music. 2pac sounds awesome also.

Great value, and great sound!
This is a great subwoofer/amp combo. Some reviews stated it didn't really have any "thump" but it has more than enough for me, as all I wanted was a nice way to fill out the lower end. The quality is fantastic (as most anything made by Harman/Kardon is) and the sound is great. I installed it under the left-rear seat in my crew cab pickup and am very pleased with the result. I really like that I didn't have to find room for and amp, and a speaker box. It's a great product, and the price from this vendor was much better than others! Great shipping as well!

It's not a set of 10s
Ehh it's alright, sound quality is good, thump is decent, doesn't fill up a four door truck, factory Ford amp had more bang, it's ok for the price I guess, but I wouldn't ever go this route again unless I have no space in the vehicle in which case this works. JBL has great products but this one disappointed me. Pros: space saver, ease of install, ehh bass, good quality, decent sound. Cons: not enough bass, over priced in my opinion, no vocal option like middrivers. Get rid of the spare tire and storage boxes, buy a set of 10s.

Incredible sound! Just the right amount of bass!!
This sub did exactly what I had hoped it would! I have a 2014 Toyota Tacoma and don’t have much room for any sub. I was hoping to put this under one of the front seats, but I decided to put it behind the rear seat. The installation took me roughly 2 hours, because I needed to locate the colored wires for my rear door speakers. Plus I have never done anything like this before. The sound is everything I had hoped for. I’m a bit fussy when it comes to music. This sub probably won’t blow your door off, but that wasn’t what I was looking for. I want more bass and overall a fuller sound to my truck, let me tell you that this did it perfectly!Very pleased!!My only “gripe” would be that the instructions were a little vague. I thought that I had a problem with the sub not turning off after I turned the truck off, but it looks like there is a delay in it doing that. I wish the instructions would have said that, but I found nothing addressing this or even explaining that their was a delay. I did find anything listed online about this issue.

2011 Does NOT Fit!
Currently at the car audio installer and it will NOT fit under the driver or passenger seat in my 2011 Jeep. Now it has to be installed in the back cargo area. Totally defeats the purpose!!

Underwhelming
Easy install. Perfect size. Not enough sound to justify the money or hassle. Spend the additional $100 and get a real subwoofer.
