5" Double Point Bamboo Knitting Needles 12 Sets of 5 Pieces per Set (60 pieces in total)

I've been using these, plus the single-point and circular needles from this company for a while now, and they're pretty good, but not top-of-the-line. They're rough and some tend to splinter a bit. Sure, I *could* improve them with sandpaper and wax, but I'm far too lazy for that.That said, I love bamboo needles in general, since they provide some friction so that I drop stitches less often, they're much more comfortable to use (especially with arthritis), they don't get cold in the winter (when I tend to binge-knit), and they're sustainable. For the price, these fulfill all those points adequately.I have some Clover bamboo needles, too, which are smoother and a bit nicer to use, but were also more expensive. Getting most sizes I'll ever need in one batch was pretty cool, too.I'd recommend these needles; just don't expect champagne for the price of kool-aid.

I am generally happy with this purchase but I have had a problem with tiny splinters coming off one of the needles. This makes the yarn stick and is annoying but a little nail polish (or other wood finish) followed by very fine sandpaper or steel wool, followed if necessary, by some furniture polish takes care of the problem. I should perhaps point out that I have sets of single point and circular needles from the same source which have not yet given me the same trouble.

Like other reviewers have noted, these are the "best" needles out there by far but they suffice. Soft wood means they will scratch and dent from other tips fairly easily. I have found some minor size conformity issues but not enough to throw off a project at this point. For the price, you can't beat them! If however you are looking for a DPN set that will stand the test of time and do lots and lots of projects where accuracy is a must, then these are probably not what you are looking for.

I only gave this product 4 stars out of 5 because after knitting one pair of gloves on the size 6 needles they are all pockmarked. However, that did not reduce their functionality, and I think I will get a lot of use out of these for a long time. They are probably not as durable as the Clover needles, but they get the job done.

I've bought more expensive bamboo needles before and those had much better finish and smoothness. These aren't as nice but they do the job and you can't beat the price to have a set of pretty much any size you need on hand. At first they feel a little rough and sticky while you are working, but they don't snag the yarn and they do smooth out after a little bit of use.

Rough to the touch. Using these before softening with candle wax was reminiscent of fingernails on a chalk board every time I used them. I got the same sensation. My teeth hurt just thinking about it! The price, variety of sizes, lengths and strength are all great; I just wish that they'd sanded them more; something that I'm sure to be doing in the near future in addition to the wax.

Love the price and having all these sizes available whenever I need them. So far they are working great. One of my size 3 needles had a sliver on it. Pulled it off and it is working great. If not for the one sliver I would have given these a 5 star review.

I have 7" double points, but they are a little long for gloves. I ordered these, and they came quickly and are just as described. I see some other reviewers have had issues with slivers--I keep a piece of sandpaper in my knitting bag for just that reason. I love bamboo needles, but they do tend to develop rough spots. Just a quick sand, and they are perfect!I have a chair that eats double points, so I ordered two sets. I have two sets of 7" double points, and have had to order more because the chair ate 3 in one day!!!
