Best price and great product for a friends birthday who loves penguins. Very happy with purchase and arrived on the day I expected it to, to my mail box. Love when things are shipped to my mail box where we have boxes for larger items. Live in small community.

They aren't "life like" but they are realistic enough to serve the purpose they were purchased for. I wouldn't purchase them for a child who is still a "chewer"(kiddos still teething or kiddos who gnaw on things when they get anxious - etc.) , but for older children and addition to displays, decorative or educational, they are designed well enough for that. Purchased these for my adult daughter to keep in her office at work. She is vet tech and often has children come into the office when their pet is seeing the vet. She uses these to distract the kiddos and keep them busy as the vet takes care of their pet/talks to the adults about the pet care. The kids love them and my daughter has been a penguin nut since an early age, knows about everything there is to know about the species and can "teach the kids" about the birds in a fun way that keeps them focused on her and not worrying about their pet and what the vet might be doing.

At the age of eleven, my mother was on parole for the weekend and took me to SeaWorld to see the dolphins, sharks and aquatic petting zoo. Having spent a wonderful day together we planned to make one last stop at the Penguin Encounter, get my face painted like a marine animal and then go see one of her friends to get her a new tattoo. Upon entering the exhibit, we wandered apart looking at the various sights. When I realized that she was nowhere to be found I started to worry where she might be. Further compounding the situation, I needed to go to the bathroom. With no bathroom in sight and the growing sense of urgency to pee further decreased my rational thought. Being in a darkened exhibit area, I saw a door light up the immediate surrounding area as it opened and closed quickly from one of the SeaWorld employees exiting. Without delay, I went towards the door, opened it and entered the long corridor. Hustling down the path looking to and fro frantically searching for a restroom or at least an employee who could direct me to one. As my pace increased in the well-lit steryl hallway, I found a door partially open with apparent plumbing pipes visible. Thinking it would to lead to a bathroom, I hurried through it and down that cool wet hallway to another door that was opened. Upon entering it, I immediately felt a dramatic drop in the tempreture and realized I had actually entered the area the penguins lived in. The door behind me shut as I turned around to leave. Trying to open the locked door was a futile effort. Hearing a series of slow moving crunch noises, I slowly turned around and saw something more disturbing than a sequel to "Happy Feet" was a a group of penguins standing upright in the snow towards me. The crunching sound increased as they walked towards me. It was at that point, I lost control of my bladder. To this day, I'm not sure exactly what happened after that. It seems like a blur having only bits here and there with a frenzy of penguins above me as I rolled about on the snow covered ground and frozen cement floor. I do recall coming slowly back to consciousness while being dragged out naked by a couple of guys in arctic gear and then pending a few hours in a medical facility at SeaWorld. The car ride from the park with my mom was a silent one. Neither of of said a word. I remained in the car that evening while she was getting her tattoo. I felt confused, angry and somewhat thrilled by what happened. How was I to ever sort out what had happened. It's been years since that took place. I've had some therapy. My mother went back to prison. However, I have found peace from that life-changing event through my volunteer work at a local aviary cleaning bird cages. It has given me time to reflect and sort out my feelings. As a result, the realization of my strong connection (some say "unhealthy attraction") to birds. I picked up this tube of penguins to remind me that life changing moment.

We did a unit on penguins in our home school classroom so I was very excited to find this toob! I was really pleased to read in the description that it contained such varied examples of penguins. I also read in the reviews that I might not get the exacting detail I was hoping for, but I ordered anyway and kept my fingers crossed. Aside from our Rockhopper having a SOLID BLACK crest, we are decently pleased. Sure, the painting is smeary on some of the details (mostly eyes, etc.) but you get what you pay for. We were able to easily identify every one. I would have been willing to pay twice as much for better details (and I decent Rockhopper), but I won't complain at this price. This is a good set that we will use for years.

A close friend of mines kid loves penguins and this was the perfect quick surprise. I like that there is a variety of different penguins.

You cannot go wrong investing in Safari, Ltd. animals! We have a large collection from over the years and they have been played with more than any other toy in our large family and are going onto another generation now. These were special for a granddaughter who loves penquins- but I wish I had realized how small they were because they have to be saved for at least a year so they won't be a choking hazard. My mistake.

I purchased these on my own. I did not receive these as a gift in exchange for my review. I purchased these to decorate my banister for Christmas. My kids are obsessed with penguins so I thought having them slide down the banister with snow and lights underneath were a cute idea. This worked out perfectly and were the hit for a Christmas party we had. I will be purchasing another pack to add more as our banister is quite long.

I ordered the penguins for my Christmas display 'Wonderful world' and the penguins were both delightful and perfect for the purpose. The assortment of poses created a lovely scene. I had ordered cheaper penguins before but had been disappointed.
