We don't like chilled water, so instead of an electric water cooler, we just use this crock as a water dispenser with the 5-gallon water bottles we have delivered by a local water service. We like the metal valve on this crock better than the typical water cooler valve. It works by rotating it open (no spring mechanism), which starts the water flowing, which is preferable to the type where you have to continuously hold down a spring-activated button to allow the water to flow. The plastic collar works just fine to hold the bottle in place, with no leaking. The crock seems to be made of decent enough ceramic, with smooth surfacing that ought to be easy to keep clean. And the blue is a nice color. I assume, as long as it doesn't take a fall, it'll do its job for many years.

This was exactly what we needed for a water dispenser. We did not want the hot/cold dispenser that you need to plug in. We have limited space, so a counter-top version was our best bet. This dispenser fit the bill perfectly and we are happy with the quality. Like that it is porcelain, and it can hold a 5 gallon plastic water jog (see photo). NOTE: it says you cannot use a 5 gallon GLASS jug with it (too heavy). The tap seems like it's good quality. Water flow is good (though slower than using the sink). Very happy and would definitely recommend this product!

You can see through to the ceramic under the edge of the handle of the lid and glaze is uneven and not first quality

It canes with a lid and works well! Make sure you turn the nozzle all the way off or it will leak a little.
