A Game-Changer for Leather Finishing!
I recently got my hands on Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene, and let me tell you, it has completely transformed my leatherworking projects! What I Love: Incredible Shine: This stuff delivers a truly professional, high-gloss finish that I just couldn't achieve with other sealants. It brings out the richness of the leather color beautifully. Durability: My finished pieces feel so much more robust now. It provides a fantastic protective layer against scuffs and moisture, giving me confidence in the longevity of my work. Ease of Application: Applying Resolene is a breeze. I used a sponge applicator, and it went on smoothly and evenly with no streaks or blotches. It dries relatively quickly too! Versatility: I've used it on everything from wallets and belts to journal covers, and it performs exceptionally well on all of them. It's become my go-to topcoat. No Stickiness: Unlike some other finishes, Resolene dries completely tack-free, which is a huge plus. No worries about dust sticking to your freshly finished leather! A Must-Have for Leather Enthusiasts! If you're serious about leather crafting and want that extra polish and protection, you absolutely need Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene. It's worth every penny and has elevated the quality of my finished products significantly. Highly, highly recommend!

Sealed dye perfectly with great matte leather finish
I was touching up my travel bag which had taken a beating on the road. I used a q-tip dipped in the black Fiebings Leather Dye so as to not get dye on the cream stitching, and then used the Fiebings applicator on the large open areas of the bag (went faster than the q-tip:)). Worked beautifully. After drying for a couple of days (just to make sure) I buffed the leather, and then I was ready for the Resolene. Per info on the internet, I diluted a small amount of the Resolene 50% with water. Then took a soft rag and applied the Resolene (it is a cream texture) to the entire bag using circular motions. I let it dry for several hours and then put a second coat on it and let it dry. I then buffed the bag with a soft cloth. Applied some leather conditioner to finish it off, and buffed to a lovely soft natural finish. Resolene did exactly what it needed to (stop the dye from rubbing off), but without creating any type of unnatural glossy finish. THe leather is soft to the touch and supple - exactly what I wanted. I found the Resolene easy to apply, with no unpleasant fumes. I did not get any streaking, as some people have mentioned in other reviews posted here. It worked like a charm for me. I did two coats of the Resolene on the bag that is pictured here, and the bottle is still practically full.

Good Product
Used it after the dark dye dried. Two coats gave a satisfactory result.

Great product
Purchased this product after reading finishing techniques for leather products. I replaced and old seat on an antique rocking chair with a new embossed leather seat. Stained and then seal finished with this product. Easy to apply, just follow the instructions. The seat looks great and is now well protected after completing project to give new life to a cherished rocker.

Excellent protection but not a great look, imo
I’m just not a huge fan of resolene in general. Fiebings brand is fine. I buy lots of their other products and am satisfied with them Resolene creates a high gloss and plastic acrylic look that diminishes the natural beauty of the leather underneath it, imo. I use it on belts sometimes because it provides a lot of protection from the elements but am never really satisfied with the appearance of it. Your best bet to diminish the high gloss finish is to cut it 50% with some water and apply several very thin coats I prefer the look of Leather Balm with Atom Wax to Resolene but the leather balm doesn’t protect much from water and weather

A great product
This is what I use to finish knife sheaths for many years. It is a great protectant and produces a nice finish. You have to be careful to avoid streaking.

Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene
I recently dyed a motorcycle vest using Fiebing's Black Leather Dye. It did a great job of restoring the color, but the black color would transfer to anything it rubbed up against, not matter how much I buffed it with a clean cloth. I carried the vest to a local shop which deals with leather goods and inquired as to how to stop the transfer. I was sold a product called M&B Quick Shine 48, and told to wipe down the vest with rubbing alcohol prior to applying it. I carefully cleaned the vest and applied 2 coats of the Quick Shine. It was NOT effective in stopping the color transfer. I then did what I should have done to begin with and went to Fiebing's website and discovered the right product for the job is Resolene, a leather finisher. Having put 2 coats of Quick Shine on the vest previously, I used saddlesoap to once again clean the vest. I then let it dry overnight and applied Resolene twice, letting it dry between applications. I did not dilute it. After letting it sit overnight, I wiped it down with a clean, soft cloth and there is no longer a color transfer. It works beautifully!!!

Recommend for keeping leather stain from rubbing off
I bought an old leather bag in England and was frustrated to find that the leather stained my clothes. I scoured the internet for a solution to "seal" the leather without ruining the fantastic leather texture of the bag. This stuff worked as directed. It provided a thin, transparent coat that has kept the leather stain from transferring, and the bag still looks great. I recommend if you are also having this issue!

I used the product on my hand bag it makes it look more beautiful after I applied the dye I wasn't sure if I liked it because the bag has two colors I only dyed one part of the two colors but when I applied the Resolene it changes the whole picture of the bag . It looks more beautiful and I was very pleased with effect on the bag

I like how easy it is to use. Great cover over dye to prevent the color from rubbing off.
