Great for my girls
Love this it looks great and very practical, instructions were easy to follow but was a little hard with the shape to put it together just one person but manageable. Finish makes it look like a really good home for the chicken and love the little perches you get for them to sit on great

Not worth the money and is not robust enough to withstand animal protection and weather.
Customer service is poor and material/wood is flimsy. This was purchased to house ferrets and would certainly not be big enough for chickens. You will need to modify and reinforce hinges and alignments. For the time it has taken to do this it would have been cheaper to have built one from scratch and for the money it costs, cheaper to purchase better quality wood and netting.

Nice little chicken house! Very well designed!
Update: Still love it! We've had a lot of rain and have had no issues at all with the chicken house. Our neighbors moved leaving behind a hen. She ran wild for months and we started feeding her. She has been spending nights in a dog house in the living room. It's not as fun as it sounds. We saved enough money to purchase a house for her. My husband could have built one but his work schedule doesn't give him much free time. We loved the design of this chicken house and knew we could fix it up to be predator proof. It came in two big boxes. The boxes weren't very heavy and our adult son was here to help me assemble it.The first thing I did was buy Thompson's water seal at Wal-Mart. I sealed all the wood before assembling the house. It was only $15 and because it was so expensive were didn't want it to get ruined by the weather. After two coats it was ready to go. I might paint the white again with a nice glossy paint as it looks like only one coat was used. The directions are okay. I think anyone can put the house together. Our cordless drill/screwdriver worked great for this. My son only cursed a few times, he spent most of his time in the military on ships so I'd say it went smoothly. We are going to use clear silicon and weather stripping to finish it up. There are a couple places where water might get in. We really want this house to last for years. The last thing we are adding is 2×6 boards to the frame. The house is very light. A raccoon could pick it up. We are going to add stakes to the boards so it can't be lifted by a hungry critter. I'll be really mad if I spent this much money on one chicken only to have her eaten. Plus we really love her. ❤I'm really happy with the house, it really is beautiful and well designed. I wasn't disappointed with the size because I read the description and chose this one because it was one of the longest at this price. If you spend a little more to finish it out I think it should last for many years.I'll update once my chicken has used it. She seemed to know it was for her because we kept having to chase her off while we were sealing and putting it together. I'm thinking about painting her name in it. 😊

Waste of a lot of money for something that falls apart
This coop goes together easily and is pleasing to the eye but it’s not at all functional. We’ve been using it for 4 months now and three pieces have fallen off, the doors don’t line up to lock and it leaks terribly any time there is any kind of precipitation. There is no dry place in the coop for the chickens to go. Unfortunately I didn’t know this until the weather changed from super dry to constant rain which, of course, fell outside the return period. HUGE waste of money. I would not recommend.

Cute, but reinforcements needed to keep flock safe.
I bought this coop over summer in 2020, my girls moved in September 2020, and I wanted to wait to review until I gave it some use. This is my experience after 7 months of use. This is probably the cutest coop I could find and the right size for my space. It was easy to assemble and my girls love it. While the aesthetics are great, I have had to make several reinforcements to various areas for the safety of my flock.List of adjustments:-From reading reviews, I added a coat of boat varnish to help waterproof.-Added several additional hooks/closures to the two doors, hen house opening and nesting box lid. The provided locking mechanisms are not sufficient to prevent predators.-I made a cover from clear roofing panels that sits the length of the coop. Too much water was getting in when it rained and even though I added varnish, the hen house still leaked.-Given that my dog isn’t a huge fan of my chicken littles, she almost busted through the chicken wire, as it’s attached on the inside of the structure panels so the staples popped right off and left holes for entry. Now I have a double layer of wire attached on the exterior for better protection. I will eventually remove the inner chicken wire pieces that were originally attached.-I have had to fix the ladder leading to the hen house three times, as the hardware hooks are not sturdy and pulled out of the wood.-The handle to open and close the pop hole door has had to be repaired, as one of the screws attached to the door came loose and fell out.-the hardware on the nesting box door was complete trash. The latch to keep it closed completely pulled out of the wood, and the locking arm that keeps the nesting box door open also detached.I live in an area with a mild winter and a decent amount of rain throughout the year, so perhaps this coop is not suitable for wet climates??For $400 I did expect better quality, but this was a situation where I feel like I paid for looks and have basically had to repair or replace everything else in order to keep my flock safe. I spent about $75-$100 extra to reinforce, so plan to spend a little more to keep your flock safe and cozy!

My first coop
I was initially very excited to get this coop. It arrived and I unboxed everything and started the process of assembling. At a couple of points the directions got kind of confusing, and another time there was a part that should have been in the pile that wasn’t. After getting it altogether, it’s really, really small! Yes I read the measurements but somehow thought that it would be a little more substantial once assembled. Skip three months to January, after requesting a return and figuring it would cost me the price of the coop to send it back, I gave up and kept it. It’s been in our backyard during the rainy season, and now the wood has actually warped and shifted so the locks don’t line up. So the big door on the side has to stay closed because once we open it, good luck getting it shut again. My husband had a go at it with a wrench to get it to latch. Our little boy went in to put their watering jug in, and when he touched the little ladder going to the hen house when he was on his way out, one of the rungs snapped off in his hand. So now it seems this thing is falling apart little by little. Frustrating as we could have purchased a nice large one built by someone local for just a couple hundred more. Not worth $500 in my opinion. Very disappointing.
