High Quality for the Price

This is an excellent little transceiver, and it fired up instantly when I plugged it into an Aruba 1930 switch, which quickly noticed it wasn't an Aruba component. It left a "non-compliant SFP inserted" error in the log, and the error beacon began flashing and has done so ever since. The transceiver, however, is working perfectly. Since the switch is in a closet, I don't care which lights blink as long as it's working. The transceiver has provided error-free gigabit service since it was installed. Very nice quality.

So many bits, so little time...maybe get 10Gb fiber links to help make the data flow faster!

There's even HIGHER speeds nowadays, but to be frank, few of us can really use much more than a gigabyte of connection capacity as it is. If you DO need more, I found these to be an excellent option short of 40/100Gbe QSFP links and other crazy stuff like that. These were for my Mikrotik CSS326-24G-2S+RM switch, and my Arista '7050S' SFP switch. I've had no issues, and so far these transceivers work at a decent temperature for my uses. I haven't packed my 7050s full of these lasers to see how they get at high density, but so far they seem to run nice and cool. It even offered me 'laser strength and attenuation' options in my 7050s's 'advanced transceiver configuration options', but I didn't dare go messing with anything. THAT level of uber-tuning is beyond my needs, skill AND knowledge...but it DID offer laser strength options and stuff when I queried them once for my lulz.I've owned these for over a year now, and none of them have failed on me so far, for whatever that might be worth!

Put in dozens (or maybe 100) with no failures

Works perfectly every time. Never fails with at least 50 in the field. I had one that was programmed for the wrong type of switch and they replaced it for free.

Works in Intel X520-2P NIC

Had a generic Fiberstore SFP+ that didn't work in my Intel X520-2P NIC, but this one does. Bonus that this was a better deal and it comes in a neat little metal box.

Works with my Aruba Instant-On 1930s

Model: AXS85-192-M3, labeled as HPE/Aruba compatible.Works with my two Aruba Instant-On 1930. It was plug & play. Now I have 10G between my two network cabinets.I would purchase again.

Extremely strange problem but outstanding support from 10Gtek

--- Update 12.17.2018---I had a pleasant and very professional conversation with 10Gtek. They immediately offered me a full refund. Their engineering team managed to replicate the problem and are currently investigating. Once the problem is fixed I will update the overall rating to 5 stars.--- Review ---I am having a strange problem with these transceivers and I have no explanation. If you have any idea please share.I have two computers directly connected with these transceivers via 1m fiber cable.Computer "A" is Dell Precision workstation with Intel X520-DA2Computer "B" is Supermicro X9DR7 with Intel X520-DA2Every time "B" gets restarted or powered on, the audio on computer "A" stutters for 1 second and at the same time the picture freezes. It is the most noticeable when watching youtube videos. This happens a second or two after you press the power button on computer "B" - in other words it has nothing to do with the OS on computer "B". On "B" I am running XenServer and I am passing through X520-DA2 to one of the VMs. The moment I power on this particular VM the problem appears again - the sound stutters and the picture freezes for a second on computer "A". I did dozens of restarts and power ons/offs and got really frustrated. The moment I unplug the fiber cable from the transceiver and there is no stutter. I don't even have to unplug the transceiver from the network card. The moment I plug the fiber cable back in and the problem returns. Although the 10Gb communication works between both computers and although I will not be restarting the server very often, the stuttering audio and frozen picture is unacceptable for me.After a month I decided to see what will happen if I use Passive Direct Attach Copper cable. Got one from the same seller (10Gtek) and same length - 1m. And to my surprise I no longer can reproduce the issue. It looks like the DAC cable solves my problem. The question is why?Unfortunately I cannot return the transceivers since one month has already passed. I will gladly update the review and the rating if someone gives me an explanation and a solution.

That will also show lots of other useful info, such as the sfp temperature

A few days ago, I received an email from 10Gtek asking if I could write a review for this item. Since I can login my CRS210-8G-2S+IN and retrieve the SFP+ info from this module, I'll write a quick review that confirms that this module shows up in my CRS as an actual S+85DLC03D using the console command "/interface ethernet monitor [f]". That will also show lots of other useful info, such as the sfp temperature, maximum link length (80m for 50um and 30m for 62um), and that your rx and tx powers that are within spec. This module typically runs about 1-2C warmer than the CRS itself (it is at 44C now) and has been running fine for several weeks with only passive cooling.I bought the Cisco 10Gtek module for my Netgear R9000 as well on a recommendation and figuring that I already had one 10Gtek module that I'd use them for both ends (since Mikrotik parts are typically sold through a 3rd party in the US anyway). I'd write a review of the Cisco equivalent module as well but since I can't yet login the R9000 until I put DD-WRT on that I'll hold off a bit. Just letting you know to give 10Gtek a try for your Mikroik if you're on the fence as for all practical purposes mine thinks it is a Mikrotik module. It works with both the stock (older firmware) and the latest 6.40.3 (stable). If anything changes here I'll update the review. Otherwise I still have a great 10GB link between upstairs and downstairs through 50m of OM3 MMF. :)I bought both SFP+ modules here on Amazon; none were provided for this review.

Worked Flawless in Juniper EX Switches

Took a chance to see if these would work on EX series Juniper switches, worked perfect. I have them in both 2300 and 2200 and each recognize as 10Gb modules, works immediately after inserting. I did halt the switch prior to installation so a full boot recognized but they do work simply inserting while running.

Great way to bridge from modem to switch

For those with modems which have a 10Gbps Ethernet port, this is a perfect SFP module to link to your router. I use the SFP module in my Mikrotik router and connect my Bell modem's 10Gbps Ethernet port to it, allow my router/switch to access all of my Internet bandwidth. Works perfectly with Mikrotik RB4011IGS.

Not compatible with TP-Link

Link performance was erratic in TP-Link ER8411 router. Returned and replaced with another brand that worked flawlessly.
