Lost Loves: Exploring Rama'S Anguish

Not worth the paper/bytes
Ms. Sattar continues to dwell negatively on Vali's killing and "Agni Pariksha" of Sita, ignorant of the contextual clarification in Valmiki Ramayana itself. Sattar and her mentor Doniger have failed to grasp the purpose of studying the Ramayana as an introspective guide for our own conduct. Instead they see themselves worthy of sitting in judgement of Rama, Sita and other ideal characterizations. Sattar and Doniger in taking such a view, betray their lack of comprehension in reading, analyzing and grasping the context and purpose of The Ramayana. At the risk of sitting in judgement of Sattar myself, I suspect if Ms. Sattar is śūrpaṇakhā reborn and Doniger is Tāṛakā. I wonder if Sattar would dare write about Aisha or Safiyya in similar tone.

Falsehood propagated as non-fiction
The author fails to understand the difference between the original Ramayana written in Treta Yuga by Valimki and the consecutive version which came ages after that. There is no Uttara Kand in Valmiki Ramayan and it was added ages after the reign of Rama. The Valimki Ramayana mentions Luv Kush in Bala Kand as disciples of Valmiki and sages, and not as the sons of Ram and Sita. Had the two been sons of Ram why would Valmiki not mention the same? Also, Valmiki Ramayan ends at Ram's coronation and has no mention of Sita's exile. Uttara Kand that the author so often refers to has contradictions with the Valimki Ramayana. The author should have researched thoroughly before selling something as non-fiction.

Admire the courage element of Sita narrated by author and the beautiful explanation of their silent romance
A different perspective from the author. I have become a sincere devotee of Ram and Sita after reading this. Admire the courage element of Sita narrated by author and the beautiful explanation of their silent romance.
