Southern Telecom EM1250 Emerson 40 Minute Answering Machine

Was looking for easy to use machine for senior citizen. Okay, not great, but not expensive either.

I bought this for my 88 year old mother because it looked like the simplest answering machine there was out there. Once installed, you could barely understand the voices left on the answering machine. Highly disappointed. My mother lives a good deal away from me, so it took me a while to get it installed (as well as not receiving instructions with it from the seller), so it took 30 days to get it hooked up and installed. After hearing these gravely voices, I contacted the seller who would not return it "because it was past the time frame of returning it." Needless to say, I wouldn't buy another Emerson answering machine nor will I purchase anything from this seller again. To return something because you don't like it is one thing -- to want to return something because it was defective is completely different. My advice -- don't buy this!

Did not work right out of the box. Threw it in the trash.

The recordings of the incoming callers is barely audible despite increasing the volume. Seems broken. But I didn't save the receipt to return it. Would NOT buy this again in hindsight.

The quality is horrible. It does not record properly and the quality of the recording is so bad that it is difficult to understand the message.

I bought this answering machine and was so disappointed. It was basically a waste of money. The quality of the sound for recordings is so poor I often can't understand the message. I have only had it about a month and am ordering an AT&T machine with better reviews today. Don't waste your money.

This machine did not work with my internet provider and when checking messages it was very hard to make out what was said, the incoming messages were very mumbled.
