I spent a long time review surfing for this product, so here's a cohesive summary based on what I was looking for as a buyer: I got the clear case, and it works exactly like advertised. no issues fitting on my new 3DS XL system, and is perfectly transparent so that I can see the red shell of my console.* No gaps in any incorrect places, doesn't stick up anywhere, and feels good in my hands. The case slips on and off relatively easily, without any damage to the console. It stays on tightly. I haven't noticed anything in terms of scratches on the case, as I'm very careful with my console, but I wouldn't really care anyway as the scratches would be on the case and not the actual shell. I don't have any trouble accessing the ports, as you can see in the pictures that they are all available. I had no issues with the shipping or anything, and my case arrived very quickly after I ordered it (but, of course, that varies by the location of the buyer). I ordered the case assuming it was hingeless from the product description, but mine came with a hinge. I don't have any issues with the hinge, didn't have to set it up or anything like that, and I think it actually supports the hinge of my console, but its something to note. I don't think a case not having a hinge would have caused any additional problems, so I wouldn't worry about it as a buyer. * I only ever really play indoors, and my case has essentially no sun exposure, so I cannot attest to whether or not it yellows in the sunlight. There is no yellowing on my case, and I have had it for a few months. Look at other reviews if this is a concern for you. The ONLY thing is that cosmetically, there are a few small spots that have the "oily" look, which you can see in the photos below. However, this is expected for me due to the type of case, and it doesn't actually harm the console in any way, so I didn't take off a star for it. Very happy with this product, as I had multiple issues in the past with other clear cases on amazon.

Okay, this thing is so sexy! It fits perfectly, no loose pieces. It makes my system a bit thicker so I don't have to get a grip for it like with my other case (I have big hands) but it doesn't make they system super bulky. The mix of aluminum with the plastic makes it look very refined. Also. the inside of the case has a special lining that doesn't seem to trap dust or debris. Not only that but that protects the case itself from scratching your machine. I usually buy gold colored things to satisfy my regal mood and I am more than satisfied with the shade they chose. It looks so noble! The only thing I have an issue with is that I have to press harder than usual to use the power button but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I recently started playing my 3DS actively again and I wanted to make sure my system would be moderately taken care of since I tend to drop my things often enough for concern. It makes my 3DS feel new and special. Was worth every penny.

Excellent case, revitalized an older”new” 3ds

Really happy with this purchase after a slight modification. The shell fits on tightly, and the inside pieces have soft cushioning so your system isn’t scratched up. I love the color, and while the top is easy to take off, it needed a few repositions to sit flush with both sides. The bottom piece stays on firmly and needs a firm push to snap on. I would recommend this case if you don’t plan on taking it off very often. For those who change cases a lot or will need constant access to the SD slot, you may consider a different case. Some slight cons include: The power button cover makes it really hard to turn the system on/off. I’m always afraid I’m pushing the button way too hard just to get the system to respond. My solution was to snap the button cover off entirely. I’m sure I can clean up the edge so it looks better, but overall, it works better now and the fact that the case makes the button recessed, I don’t think there’s a chance you’ll accidentally push the button. If they redesigned the case without the button cover, it would be perfect. I use a 3.5mm elbow bracket for headphones, and keep in mind that your jack may no longer fit due to the case’s headphone jack diameter. My solution was to trim the rubber around my elbow piece. Not ideal for everyone but my adapter had a lot of extra plastic to trim in general. Overall, I’m really happy with the purchase!
