I needed a replacement for my old (like decades-old) copper-infused back support brace, and this one floated to the top of the recommendations/reviews. (Actually, I started with the older Featol one, but it apparently had a supply issue, so when Amazon refunded that order, I switched to this newer one.)It's more substantial than the old one - wider (top to bottom), with multiple layers, and with the metal lumbar support - and that seems to result in more support for my back. I found the instructions a little mystifying, but actually getting the belt on and adjusted was actually a snap. It does take a bit of muscle to get the velcro to let go when you want to tighten or loosen one of the belt ends; but that aside it wasn't hard to figure out. And once on, it was immediately comfortable and my back was notably less tight, right away. I notice that the aluminum insert seems to prompt me to stand straighter, too, which also helps.The one issue I have is that it does seem to get warm rather quickly. Not unbearably when I'm not moving a lot; but I think I will continue to use the older one when I'm doing anything physical especially outside in the summertime.Otherwise, this is a recommended product for those with lower back problems. (Muscle-related, that is - if your spine itself is the issue, then see a physician!)

This seems to be a good quality lumbar support belt. My husband feels that it makes his gardening and mowing a lot less painful. It's easy to put on and get it adjusted for maximum support and pain relief.

Due to many back surgeries since 1997, I have worn many back braces over the years, some custom fitted, others purchased online and some from the big box stores. The custom fitted back braces are not designed to be used when working outdoors. The wrap-around back supports have never given me the support my back needs and they eventually become too stretched to be of any use. Even the back supports with shoulder straps haven't helped and the straps lose their elasticity. After doing my homework online, I read the reviews and watched the videos on the Featol back brace with the removable 3D pad and decided to try it. I have not been dissappointed as this back support is the best one I've ever tried. It is adjustable on both sides and firmly supports my lower back when working outside or inside my home. The 3D removable triangular shaped pad offers additional support where it is needed most in the lower back. Just make sure to measure around your upper abdomen and not your lower abdomen in order to get the proper fit. I ordered the XXL size, which fits me like it was custom made. Read the reviews and watch the videos and see for yourself the benefits of owning the latest Featol back brace with 3D pad. I don't think you will be disappointed. This back brace is well worth the price.

The main con that I had, was that every time that I lowered myself to do something, the belt rised up on my waist and I found myself often pulling it back down to support my lower back. I found that a firm pillow behind my back for lumbar support helped immensely when in a sitting position.
