Stainlesstown Nut Bolt Thread Gauge (White)

This gauge is a very nice piece from my point of view. The plastic is hard and fairly thick - it feels very sturdy. Being thick and hard plastic, I think this plastic gauge will resist being worn down and deforming. This gauge is likely to remain accurate long into the future.I've found that the gauge has all the features I expect from such a simple tool. The information printed on the gauge is clear and useful. Using this gauge, I can determine the gauge of a nut, bolt, and screw. The rulers printed along the side of the gauge tell me the lengths of a bolt or screw. The nut gauges will help me determine the pitch of the bolt (roughly, fine or coarse). The exact information regarding what defines a fine or coarse thread for each size bolt is printed on the gauge.I'm certain that this will be a very handy, convenient tool to posses for the long term.

We needed new bolts for one of our beds but didn't know the size, so we ordered this. It worked fine, and because of it we got the right size bolts. It seems sturdy, and for the price we were happy. Use the holes to figure out the diameter size of the bolt, then flip it over and match up the thread pitch. It's as simple as that.

So I've had others like this but I use them so many places in the shop I can't find them, and I have bought other "similar" ones that for whatever reason, the tolerances are screwed up.This one is simple, and it is accurate. It works, don't think, just buy it.

Dunno how to use every part of it but its sturdy and looks good hanging on the peg board. Will come in handy soon I can feel it.

Like many homeowners I have a collection of drill bits, screws, bolts, etc. as well as wooden dowels and other things around the house. This product is solidly built and has saved me from guessing at sizes when I go to the hardware store for parts or need to pick the correct size drill bit, screw or bolt for a job. To date it hasn't steered me wrong and it works well enough that I bought a second one for my "to go bag" of tools that I use when helping out friends or family at their place.It's worth noting that I've owned similar products from other vendors that didn't cost much less but were much less sturdy. So far this has survived life in the top shelf of my tool box without any damage. I guess if you're super rough with it you might be able to knock off one of the smaller pieces on the ends (specifically the 6 or 8 protrusion) but also, don't just go throwing this around like it's indestructible.

although I like the all-in-one design of this product I did find it tricky to use the embossed thread pitch gauge. The emboss is very shallow and the difference was not quickly determined with the finer pitches. I am probably use to the metal tooth thread pitch gauge which has longer/deeper grooves that are easier to see up against the bolt. Over all this gauge was suitable for quick checks but I would still use my metal pitch gauge.

Arrived quickly (fulfilled by Amazon).It was not expensive and other reviews mentioned some smaller issues., Like no 12 metric for nuts, or small printing.I did knock off one star over the printing as it is just on the surface, so a bit of (ab)use, and the numbers may easily scratch off. As well some of the sizing is a bit sloppy, so a 12 metric fits just as easily in 1/2"So at $13, is could easily be selling for a cheaper price.. SUMMARY,.....it's not a precision gauge,....and plenty good for rough sorting of bolt and nut sizes for most home users. If you want more accuracy, prepare to pay a lot more.
