Great idea
I'm surpirsed by the other less than enthusiastic reviews of this product. I travel with only carry-on baggage. I've been searching for a small, lightweight backpack that would fold into a small space for travel, then be available as a "purse" upon arrival. I don't use standard purses because of the weight on one shoulder. This little guy is perfect. It is not as small as some indicated. It is the perfect size to hold water, umbrella, a light jacket/raincoat, travel guides and the usual necessities in one's purse....assuming that doesn't include the kitchen sink. There are lots of zipper pockets and pouches inside and out for organizing. The straps are padded (unlike some smaller backpacks), and when zippered "shut" it really can be used as a flexible purse (about 10" x 5") on a long strap with 3 usable pockets. Unfortuantely, it only came in black.

great idea, but too small & useless as a shoulder bag
As a backpack, it is nicely designed and the materials are good (heavy duty zippers, lightweight material, stitching, padded backpack straps), but yet still too small for my purposes, maybe useful for an hour's outing, but definitely not even a half a day's outing. It would fit a small child well. The pockets are well designed (2 exterior small pockets, and another larger zippered compartment plus 1 large velcro'ed inner pocket), 1 bottle holder, 1 cell phone holder. As a shoulder bag, it is totally useless (I would call it a "wallet purse") ... the backpack straps are not detachable and when it folds in half & zippers closed (containing the backpack straps), that "main" compartment is then not useable. What remains is only one slender (now "main") compartment and 2 smaller zippered pockets. The separate shoulder strap is 1" webbing, no padding, which at this size shouldn't be a problem! Overall dimensions (since the website didn't say for the shoulder bag) is 11w x 7h and the main compartment is <2" thick.I rated it 3 stars (instead of 1) only because it was a good idea. Would be very useful to me If they made it bigger PLUS put an extra zipper on the outside backpack strap part such that when it zippers closed as a shoulder bag, it retains the main compartment from the backpack portion AND make the backpack straps be detachable so that when it is zippered closed as a shoulder bag, it does not take away that compartment AND make the backpack strap be the shoulder strap since it is padded (may need slight design changes to be dual purpose). I would say *then* they have a winner!

Very cheaply made, falls apart
As others pointed out the, quality is about as low as it goes. I was attracted by the low price and said I'd take care of it. But after a couple uses the one strap started to detach from the top of the bag. I had to safety pin it to reinforce it, but the whole thing continued to fall apart. I also found the zippers/pocket set up very confusing. I was always grabbing for the wrong zipper because of how closely they're placed, so I tied a colored string to some of them. Too bad because the size of the bag was right--being slightly smaller than most nylong backpacks, while still being able to hold a full day worth of items (running around NYC). I ended up throwing it away and I got a black BAGGU Nylon Tote Pack instead. It's great.

Great concept, poor quality
When the backpack first arrived, I was excited. I liked the size, the number of pockets, and the ability to convert into a purse. I used the backpack as an overnight bag/daypack on a two day trip to NYC at the end of April and have used it a few times to take items to school as I am a teacher. In just two weeks there is extreme wear and tear. I noticed a rip yesterday directly above the right back strap which has now turned into a hole. This morning when zipping up the bottom pocket, the zipper just pulled off completely. The material is just too thin. This is not meant to carry a lot of items. When I went to NY, I did pack it quite full as I needed two days of clothes and other essential items (toiletries, umbrella, book, wallet, etc.) For school, I usually carry my wallet, water bottle, lunch container, and maybe a book/kindle and chargers. I tried to rationalize the wear and tear by blaming myself for overpacking the bag. However, I have literally not even used the bag 2 weeks. Bottom line: you get what you pay for. Cheap bag = poor quality.

Thin but very handy
Very light with lots of pockets. Great as an overnight bag.

Zero stars...
False advertising at its worst! I was looking for a backpack to pack clothes when I bike to and from work. From the product description, I thought I was getting that from this bag. For other buyers considering this bag, it's no bigger than a clutch purse, and cannot hold any useful items. Buyer beware!

Might hold up better than I think but I will be returning it ...
Item was the size it said it was. However, I felt it was made a little cheaply. When I held it up to the light I could see right through the bottom panel. Might hold up better than I think but I will be returning it anyway since we were given one by our travel company to use.
