A really good cycling jacket
This is a really good cycling jacket, especially for the price. I commute daily 20 miles year-round in Chicago. This jacket is true to size, fits well (not too tight or bulky), well made and looks good, has excellent windbreaking and very good waterproofing. I use it as my standard outer layer in spring and fall for windbreaking and rain (it's a single layer inside, no netting, but breathes well), and have come to use it in very cold weather as my outer shell, as it fits well over a standard biking coat. Pocket well placed and right size, zippers work well, hood well designed, has held up well to wear and tear so far. Very pleased with this purchase.

NICE JACKET!
This is a very good, lightweight rain jacket in appearance, but haven't yet used it, so can't attest to its waterproof quality. Small fits me pretty well, considering I'm only 5' 1.5", 120 pounds. It has a textured, clothlike feel on the outside, with a PVC/plastic lining, to repel water, of course. All the zippers work well, with 3 zip pockets on the outside front, and 1 large on the back, which also acts as a storage compartment for easy packing and transport. Additionally, It has 2 large inner pockets, and 1 small one. The hood is huge, as it's designed to accommodate bike helmets and/or maybe other head gear, so that's very understandable. It does, however, have a drawstring in the back to shrink it, which works well, even for my rather small head. Additionally, you can roll the hood into a collar, when you're not using it, with the attached velcro closures included. I bought this for a trip to Israel in the Spring. There's probably not a lot of rain there, but don't want to get caught outside on a tour without protection. I find this jacket as perfect as they come in a lightweight, the manufacturer seems to have thought of just about everything, in terms of quality, design and features...now if it only keeps out the rain, as it claims, is my only remaining question.

I like it!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Hasn't rained to test it but I like it so far. Makes a great windbreaker jacket. Enough venting so I don't get sweaty. When I first opened the package and put the jacket on, there was a lot crinkling noise which I did not like, but oddly, it has become quieter with use. Also, the hood is slightly on the large size, but it's fine. It's very light and I like the color and fit. It's more of a shorter jacket length than a longer 3/4. True to size. I got the med. Average build. 5'7". 168# Size: Med Value for money: good Lining: none Lightweight: yes

great jacket for the price
Great jacket. I use this for running/biking. Fits well and I like the hood that is oversized as it really keeps the rain out of my face.

RE: WOW, BEST VALUE... Almost as good as very high end, at a fraction of the cost
I have paid hundreds of dollars for high tech, name brand raincoats for back packing, canoeing, wilderness camping. They are comfortable, they pack down, they keep me dry. And they last about as long as the less expensive ones. I have bought cheap raincoats. They are hot, uncomfortable, do not pack down well, and the zippers fail. This coat is comfortable, light weight, and is very inexpensive. I could afford to replace may raincoat every year, and still be ahead in dollars; I expect this coat to easily last 2-3 seasons, so I am way ahead.

Perfect for Running in Heavy Rain or Windy Days
If you need to be dry, this is the jacket for you. I used it for a 10-mile race in the pouring rain. The biggest benefit of this jacket is it is easy to remove during running and ball it up in your hand as it doesn't take much space and is easy to carry during races. I like the bright color and the material definitely can keep you warm. I ended up somewhat hot about halfway in the race so I had to take it off despite the colder weather.

AFTER THREE YEARS OF USE
This jacket has really held up well: zippers, materials, elastics, adjusting cords and cord toggles all work just as good as new, and the color hasn't faded (as far as I can tell). I use this jacket as an outer shell for commuter cycling, hiking, and running in rain, cold weather, and windy conditions. Because it's packable, I take it on vacations--it's usually in my carry-on backpack/daypack when I travel. As a commuter cyclist living in a college town, I appreciate the high-visibility color and reflective trim when I'm on the road. After three years, I've got no complaints and no regrets. This is a great jacket! I like it so much that I bought a fluorescent yellow one I keep in my car for roadside emergencies, and a black one I can more easily match to my clothes when I don't want to stand out in bright orange.

Pros and Cons.
What I liked: Very visible color. Feels like it will be very rainproof and windproof. Hood tucks into its own velcro compartment if you dont need it and dont want it hanging out. This brand is pretty good on quality. I've owned riding gear from Baleaf before, and it's been durable and reliable. I have a pair of Baleaf rain overpants that I purchased in 2006 that I still wear sometimes, although my wife had to resew part of it and one of the leg zippers failed they still do the job. What I wasnt fond of: Size ran just small/slim enough to be annoying. I am a 44" chest, with a 34" waist, by the chart I am at the top end of a Large, but I should have just ordered the XL. There is some pulling at my armpits and shoulders and the elastic waistband eventually pushes the bottom of the jacket to where it's riding up past my belt. If youre anywhere near the in-between of 2 sizes, just order the bigger one. This jacket has the comfort-feel of a raincoat that will repel heavy rain; not necessarily optimal for high performance. That might not be a dealbreaker for some, but I was accustomed to a different kind of riding windbreaker when I bought this.

Only a 2 layer jacket. Not appropriate for heavy downpours.
