I like the idea of Pura bottles. There's no plastic, and there's a variety of lids that work with every bottle. I was going to purchase the insulated 22 oz bottle, but I discovered they use lead solder underneath the cap on the bottom. I purchased this 28 oz uninsulated bottle instead.But I imagined the inside as one smooth surface, like a stainless steel pan. Instead, I discovered gaps and seams. It almost looks like the bottom is a cap that's screwed on, where there's dark ridges connecting it to the cylindrical body. Then the cylinder is like a sheet wrapped together, and welded shut where you can see the bulging vertical line where they connect.I imagine the grooves would make it difficult to clean. But I won't know, because mine was damaged, with a dent on the base. I didn't care much until I saw the dent caused a bulge where it wobbled a little when standing upright. Then I saw the inside of it, which I did not like.I also noticed the top of the steel bottle had a lip, and there was some kind of green gunk. When screwing the steel cap over the bottle top, it didn't feel smooth or precise. There was a kind of rough texture scraping, and it didn't smoothly glide together as I'd hope.Also note that silicone does in fact have an odor. This isn't unique to this water bottle, but if you're expecting that "plastic free" means you bring your nose close to it and sense absolutely nothing besides the water, smell some silicone first. But it may decrease with time.Pura offers some unique advantages, and if these issues aren't a problem for you then it might be the perfect solution you need. But I'd prefer if they improved the construction. For now, I was happier with a "plastic free" glass, stainless steel, and silicone bottle for half the price. The Pura silicone lid is soft, and the lighter bottle cannot shatter.Please note that in the picture of the bottle top, the large green area on the right is a tree reflection. The gunk is visible on the upper left, on the lip and below it. In the picture of the inside of the bottle, most of the vertical line is blurred, but is visible near the bottom.

Pricey, yes. Worth it, yes! At about two to three times the price of a plastic container, it delivers. I drink from a water bottle all day, every day. The previous PBA fee plastic bottle would infuse the water with a funny taste after half a day. After some research on the fact the companies often replace the PBA for other, just as toxic, chemicals but still promote "PBA Free", I took the plunge into stainless steel. Researched again on all the pitfalls of aluminum, poor quality stainless, plastic lids verses silicone and paid the extra $$. Now the water in the Pura container always tastes fresh. The silicone lid does not detract from the flavor and there is no leakage.

We have one kids and two adult Pura's and love them. Easy to clean and keeps the water inside if knocked over (and cap is securely tightened). Simple, lightweight (I had a glass water bottle and this is sooooo much lighter), and durable. Great product.

Really nice bottle. I use it daily for water. My only gripe is it was shipped in an envelope which didn't protect it from getting a dent on the bottom edge. Other than that, I'm very happy with the quality.

I like it because silicone is good for 500 degrees Fahrenheit which means when camping or hiking, you can easily boil water in it. Doesn't mean you can get stupid. For example, leaving it on the heat after all the water is gone. Dumb. I tested this on the stove at home.

Perfect bottle! Comfortable drinking lid, safe for water with addes essential oils that can't be stored in plastic.

The silicon or plastic type parts had a strong fragrance smell. I washed it, soaked it and it would not go away. Otherwise it seemed like it would have been a good water bottle. I just could not stomach the chemical/fragrance smell. I do not recommend this product.

Fantastic water bottle and love that it has no plastic. My only complaint is that the sleeve slips up when you hold a full bottle by the loop.

I would not buy it again. One has to be extreemely careful otherwise the bottle opens by itself. We have to carry the box in the hands, as soon as we place it in our bag, we can be sure that it will open.
