Size is accurate in description and seems to be a nice quality wick.

Used for small 4" high oil lamp. The wick burns slowly and evenly. The wick doesn't fray when installing it in a twisting motion into the candle wick holder.

Bought both 4mm and 2.9mm versions of this “wick”. Neither would work in our miniature oil lamps. The weave of the string is too loose for the wick advance mechanism and it just spins.Not worth trying to return as it was mangled in the process of trying to feed it through the lamp.

Tried in a oil lamp but it did not burn well. Probably just too small.

I have an old oil lamp that I bought in Morocco nearly 40 years ago. After I used up the wick that came with it I tried to find a replacement. After never getting the correct size I put it in a box and mostly forgot about it. I found it recently and decided to give another try in finding a wick. I finally found just the right size with the help of a precision caliber to measure the opening and the wide selection to choose from on Amazon. I always remembered the beautiful flame that this oil lamp created. I'm so happy to have it back and offering soothing light.

Before threading this wick into my oil candle, I cut off a one-inch piece to test by burning dry. The smell and burn told me that this is 100% cotton - no filler fibers.The weave of the wick allows good oil flow and results in a good burning candle. You'll see in my picture that the key is to only have a tiny bit of the wick above the wick holder - just enough to allow the oil vapor to get above the holder.The oil candle in my picture has burned for about 24 hours (across a few days) without having to feed any wick. I am not burning through wicks like I have done when using artificial wicks and wicks with filler fibers.
