Classic "Flying Saucer"/UFO
This is a reshoot of the classic Aurora/Revel/Monogram kit from the TV show, The Invaders, that was running in the late 1960s. The kit is essentially identical to the original Aurora issue, however these "new" kits do not include the landscape base and fewer figures than were included with the originals. The kit is easy to assemble but does require some filling for gaps and depressions in the plastic, which should surprise no one who has built vintage kits. The engineering of the landing gear hasn't changed any, so if you plan to display the ship with gear down, be aware, if you don't plan to cement the landing gear in place, it will detach when you pick the ship up. There are after market decals available to detail the interior (highly recommended) and an opportunity to fit "regeneration tubes" (clear plastic tubing) for the aliens in the interior. There are two sets of landing lights, one shot in clear plastic affording the opportunity to fit LED lighting if one so desires and the other in standard grey plastic. For an "authentic" appearance, it will be necessary to spray the exterior with a metallic paint as the plastic itself has many swirl marks in it from the molding process. This kit is a perfect size to create a diorama of the opening sequence in the series, describing the moment when David Vincent saw the craft landing in a field on a dark night. Great fun for the money and certainly an opportunity to build this craft for far far less then a Monogram/Aurora kit will cost. Builds into a great replica of a craft from the "Great Race" as the aliens called themselves. Just plain fun.

Exactly like the one in the series the invader’s
I had this model when I was a kid and enjoyed putting it together. Everything is exactly the way I remember it. Pieces are made well and easy to put together. Highly recommend this model.

Very retro kit, expect a lot of finish work.
Firstly, bear in mind this is a very old kit. These molds date from the 60's, and were not great then, and are not great now. That being said, expect to do a lot of finishing work if you want this to look nice. For a kit that has only 15 parts (if you're building it to look like it appeared in the show), this thing took me several hours of sanding and filing to get reasonably flat surfaces. I didn't build the interior or use the gimmicky clear top (which was not part of the original kit) The kit is molded in soft silver plastic with a lot of swirls and some sinks here and there, you will have to paint this for it to look presentable. I decided to light mine to look like it did in the show, this required some modifications to fit various boards and LEDs inside, and fabrication of a custom frosted circle for the base, which is solid on the model for some reason. There are various lighting kits available on the web, but I chose to design my own. The model will be mounted on a stalk with a base, and run from AC power so it can be lit permanently. Overall, it's a mediocre kit quality-wise, but not hard to build and brings back some fun nostalgia for the TV show from the 60's. It should be noted that this release by Atlantis says nothing about The Invaders and has no references or pictures from the show, obviously they don't have the copyright to that. It is the ship from the show, and it is the kit which was originally released with box art from the show.

Fresh Approach to a Classic
Box ***** just like the Aurora boxes of late 60s Scales ****out at 1/72 +/- Room for detailing *****. As for warmth----no way, these aliens were stone killers and they regarded humans as an infestation of planet Earth. Sheerness while not in the dictionary the clear parts are excellent for coloring and back lighting. A great blast from the time when Aurora Models. dominated the shelves. My thanks and sincere compliments to Atlantis plastic models for this revival. How to top this: The old Aurora MBT-70 or Sea LabBill Hodges

The tv show weirded me out
I was chasing down flying saucers myself when the series came out, so I was maybe a little more suggestable than others, but that was a long time ago. Building this model also brought back good memories of the show. It's easy to assemble and includes a detailed interior, along with a clear plastic dome to show it off. I used Vallejo acrylics for the walls, control surfaces and lights. I printed out tiny scenes that would be of interest to invaders and pasted them on the screens.

good BUT
this is a rerelease of the old araura kit of the tv show THE INVADERS saucer. Molding is good with no flashing except minor on figures. kit comprises hull section, hull bottom, landing legs, top and lower lights both come in grey and clear.interior wall liners molded with consol details, seperator walls, seat and regen pods and 4 crew. the kit is glossy finish meaning you shoulnt need to paint, but swirls in the plastic means painting is needed. kit would suit a novice to build BUT , AND A BIG BUT, painting is a pain, due to plastic make up acrylic pains find it dificult to hold. i washed and dried before painting and hab to do two coats of priner wiped off at tacky to form a base, then 3 coats airbrushed. really only recommended for collectors, experienced painters or the very patient.
