The book is full of helpful information

The book spends a lot of effort explaining steps that are used for most of the projects. Unfortunately, you need to adapt some of them to make some the builds work and they don't always make that quite clear. Though, if you review the drawings they provide, it can make sense. Do make sure you use the detailed design drawings though if you need step by step instructions, beware that some project, some steps are glazed over.

I used this to build my 12 x 16 building. I didn't use the plans exactly but more as a guide. This book helps a DIYer refresh some basic building skills they may have forgotten since they last built a project. Very well written and very good plans. I am going to use this book for several of the plans in it.

Book has a lot of good information and construction techniques. I was hoping to get more general info, not just the books specific projects. I was specifically hoping for a formula on how to lay out roof rafters, such as actual dimensions to a particular size building. Example: given, 18 ft wide with a 3/12 pitch. How long should the rafters be, how high will the peak be. How many rafters for a given length using a steel roof.

I found and really love the Black and Decker photo guides, they are complete and detailed. If you were a kid that played with Lego's, K'nex, or a good old fashioned erector set and can follow the instruction you will be good to go.over all i would HIGHLY recommend this product.

some good ideas, relies a bit too much on big box store designs, but the wood designs are worth the look. would suggest going to a library for this one.

Good information that takes the mystery out of pole barns, garages, and to some extent, sheds. If you really want info on building a shed get the book "Building a Shed" by Joseph Truini. He covers foundation options in much more detail.

Bought this for the old man for his christmas gift as we have a set budget! He spent most of the day reading it.the cutting and wood guides are fab and we have been able to organise and buy on our budget over the winter...once this damn snow does one, we should hopefully have a shiny new garage by fall!

Really great book although I would say you need a bit of experience or some guidance from someone who knows what they are doing! Great ideas, clearly laid out and a huge variety of structures! Hubbie is now building a cat house for a wild cat that has taken to him in the depths of France. A big garden shed is next on the list. Where to put the stuff from the existing one whilst it's under construction is my dilemma! A really comprehensive volume that I would recommend to anyone!

Nice book, well displayed and presented. It is really easy to understand and gives the average weekend/handyman a good basis on which to build his/her project(s).

A well presented book which gives a wide range of different structures. My son said that it gave him a wide and very useful briefing on the alternative garden buildings.
