I**!
Excellent product.
I received the order in perfect condition. This is my third Ontario product and I really respect the quality in their products. I use my knife as a tool when I go outdoors. Digging, chopping even cutting when necesary with my wet stone next to me cause of course the blade is basically dull. It's meant to be a bayonet and not a sharp meat cutting knife. For the purpose of a bayonet is as good I would say as the M7 system although a lot of USMC personal prefer the later one. I served in another country and we had bayonets systems that were crap. The station i served was up in the mountains with jungle like vegetation and for those times I would have loved to have this system attached to my FAL. Currently I use it on my Colt AR 10 16' barrel and it fits as it should. I have dropped it from a clif by accident while digging, have used it as a hammer, have used it while scuba diving, I even used it to cauterize a wound when I couldn't do anything else. It's well balanced when you hold it in hand, there are much better tactical or combat knives but this will do the job. I did read other comments and I do respect everybodys opinion but I would defenitely purchase this product again cause it works for what is meant to do.

Make the green grass grow!
my favorite part of basic training was the bayonet course where you learn what makes the green grass grow! In modern combat the bayonet is more or less obsolete but that's not why I bought one in 2022. This is a solid must piece of survival gear should the world take a dump. Don't use it as a bushcraft or heavy field knife. if you have to i wouldn't split heavy logs with it it's not full tang. It's only true purpose is to serve what a bayonet is for which i can't post on here. In that context this this is BAD ASS!. Soild hefty blade that fits on rifle length AR platform with the bayonet lug. If you have a carbine length AR the bayonet doesn't fit correctly but don't get sad you need a bayonet lug adapter you can google that and find one you like there are multiple vendors.

Nice Bayonet and Good $$$
I had been looking for this bayonet for over 8 months and had been in contact with the manufacturer awaiting for them to get it in stock, but it was looking like a dead-end. I came across this bayonet on Amazon, the exact same bayonet from Ontario Knife Company, and was less expensive than buying direct from the manufacturer (OKC). In 3 days I had the bayonet in my hands and I am not disappointed. I was in the US Army for 22 years and this bayonet looks as good or better quality as those issued in the military. It will fit most standard barreled AR15's and unless something strange happens, I think this bayonet will stand up to most rigors you'd put it through.

GREAT ADDITION FOR MY MOSSBERG 590A1
Have to say, I orignially purchased this item to properly add to my Mossberg 590A1. I purchased the Mossberg knowing that it had a Bayonet lug. WORD OF WARNING. I had first added a sling specifically made for the 590A1 (in that it had the ring that goes over the choke tube for proper fit.) If you add the sling, the Bayonett will not fit in the lug due to the expansion in length. Once you take off that sling, the Bayonet fits perfectly. Totally looks bad ass on the shotgun as well! The bayonete in and of itself came with an overdose of cosmoline on it, but it cleaned up realatively easy. I can see use for the bayonete as an alround utility blade for camping, hunting, survial etc., and not just as an accessory to the shotgun. It is a little pricey, however, like previously stated, it fits my shotgun like a glove. Its a much better choice than Smith and Wesson's version which is often marketed to go with the shotgun, and in my opinion is an inferior blade. Bottom line, go with this mil-spec version. In the end, I think most purchasers will be glade they spent the extra $ in order to get a blade that is solid as a rock!

Well build heavy duty looks mean on a 590a1
Nice heavyweight solid build little rough around the edges not the knife edge it's sharp but it's not a show knife it's a work knife seems like if you use it properly it'll last or save your life oiled well no rust fits tight on my 590a1 very secure

Great bayonet, terrible as a knife.
Simply a terrible knife. Unbalanced, poor grip, mediocre blade and only mildly sharp. But I didn't buy it to use it as a knife. I bought it as a bayonet. If you're purchasing this as bayonet, then it does the job well. It locks onto the bayonet lug of my 590A1 without any problems. The blade itself came in good condition, and the sheathe is functional, if not a little too unwieldy. Also, you can't beat supporting a US company that's been making knives and bayonets in Upstate NY for a 100+ years. It's an OK bayonet. I have not had, and will never have, a reason to use this in its intended capacity. I bought it simply as a curio item to put on a firearm or two and gawk at it. If I were to rate this bayonet as a knife, it'd probably be a 2 star knife. Much better options out there for fixed blade military knives (e.g. KA-BAR) that are handier and better built. I wouldn't want to have to use this to baton, open cans, or do any type of precision cutting while camping.

Better than expectations
This fit perfectly on my 20" A2 Armalite with carry handle. The sheath was sturdy and hangs on your pack. The knife was well made. These are not beauty queens. They are old school Army issue. If you want an original new US Army knife then buy this.
