I bought it to hook up a second monitor to my computer. I didn't know that I had to find one end as "male" and the other end as "female". It was bad enough looking for a 15 pin AND a 9 pin cable... Hopefully the new one I just ordered will be the right one, with the female end going to the port on the back of the tower, and (I hope I remember that right) with the right number of pins.

This cable did not fit the monitor and computer as described. One end fit fine the other did not. Fortunately I had a few male VGA adapters that came in the same day that fixed the problem. Not returning the cable as the price makes return not worth the headache. I have marked this cable as not worth the money.

I wanted to expand my options for my 1986 IBM PS/2 by buying an EGA card with the standard RS232 pinout, rather than using the MCGA card available with the system; a lot of software was not written/will not work for/with MCGA. The only monitor that I have with the same pinout, is a Tandy CM-5, which I want to keep specifically with my Tandy 1000 EX. I received the order on time, but was initially disappointed with the flimsy, cheap quality of the cable. I was further disappointed (but not at all surprised) when the cable did not produce a signal from the computer to the display as stated. I'll have to pin it out and correct the error which, at this point, I might as well make my own cable.

Didn't work, that's all I have to say.

Not really the product's fault, but the 15 pin end was the exact size as the port it was plugging into. So .. No. It wouldn't plug in. Looking at the product description NOW (duh) ... I realize that maybe I should have shopped for a cable with a female 15 pin adapter. Otherwise, nothing to complain about ... Easy to order, arrived when it was promised, and the item was as described. Just watch out for that male/female end
