We have 2 electric cars, (one is a plug in hybrid) and i searched for a charging station that was faster than the portable 16 amp 240 volt charger i was using. Based on reviews i saw online, my choice was the Clipper Creek 20 amp 240 volt station I ultimately purchased. The Clipper Creek unit did not disappoint! With my existing dedicated 30 amp circuit breaker and 10 gauge wiring to the garage it was extremely easy to mount and wire and noticeably faster than the previous system. We are very happy so far and based on my experience I highly recommend this product.

It works as advertised. Not a factory replacement (doesn't have the built in flash light). But, it comes with a mountable holster. Unfortunately, the holster is made to mount the wrong direction for me, and it isn't adjustable.

This unit works very well.Pros:Simple to install. Just plug it in.Simple to operate. No fancy wifi, which I like.Small.Excellent support. Before purchase, I called to ask a question and had no difficulty getting a prompt response.Cons:Expensive to get 20A.So, why the three star rating?Eager to receive this device, I read the user manual online. It gave instructions to loosely wind the cord around the unit. When the device arrived, it came with different instructions that did not say to loosely wind the cord. So, I took off one star for the wrong/outdated instructions.They charged $23 for shipping, and it still took a week to arrive. That seemed to be expensive for a slow shipping method. So, I took off another star.

The charging station was delivered promptly and in good condition. I paid an electrician $285 to install an electrical outlet in my garage, and fasten the station to the wall. The unit worked perfectly from the start, and has continued to operate without a hitch. It charges my BMW i3 more than 3 times faster than the 120 volt unit that came with the car. I know the car will accept a faster charge than this unit can output, but this one is more than adequate, charging from "zero" to full in six hours. So an overnight charge is good to go for the day. I appreciate the 25' cord, since in my set up, the charging unit is a considerable distance from the car's input receptacle.

Super simple to install and works great!

This portable EVSE has a NEMA 14-30 plug. I use it with a 30-amp 240-volt outdoor circuit. It is not weatherized, so I cover it in inclement weather. It charges my Chevrolet Volt from zero to 43 miles in 3.5 hours, instead of 10 hours with the 110-volt EVSE. I can now drive up to 86 electric miles per day, by charging twice per day during off-peak hours. Now, I use no gasoline in town, and am averaging 65 mpg for long-distance weekend gasoline-electric trips. Electric is not yet a total replacement for gasoline, but it is a replacement for commuter gasoline, which dramatically reduces the carbon footprint.

This is our first time for buying an EV and charging station. Our charging station was easy to install and seems to be performing like we hoped.
