THANK YOU & OUTSTANDING!!!
All negative stars are because (1). the battery is smaller (2). its only 3200mAh not 4000mAh like OEM. (3.) Battery life is slightly lower. Well, you find me an OEM battery NOT from the manufactorer ($80 dollars) that is set at this price buy it. But THERE ISN'T one! So my review. OUTSTANDING. DVD was easy to follow. Literally took me 10 minutes to fix my Nook Color. Now my issue was the battery wouldn't hold a charge (3 years old duh) and go figure the Nook Cable (my 4th one) no longer worked. So this is a review for those troubleshooting why their Nook Color is Acting retarded.1. The Nook Cable is "special". It is a 12 pin micro hdmi cable that dumps a rapid charge into the battery. All your other micro hdmi cables (smartphone, tablets, so on) are ONLY 5 pin. Why more pins? well it charges faster with MORE mAh's silly.2. Issue. People push and throw and disturb the cable while its charging. Causing the pins to break or arc causing cable failure.3. ANY micro hdmi cable will charge the Nook Color, but the tablet won't register it's charging as these charges "trickle" charge the tablet much slower. (same result just takes longer)4. My particular situation I had to do TWO steps to get my Nook Color back to life. (after installation of my battery, not everyone's story is the same as mine, but this is WORST case scenerio and this is for my particular issue as my wife did a factory reset and the "old" battery died during install of factory software, bad, very bad) FIRST. I had to trick Nook into an 8 failed start situation. I repeatedly had to turn the nook on and off 8 times to make it know there is a "boot" issue. Nook goes into a "software update" mode to repair. SECOND. After software update repair, I had to "factory reset" the Nook to OEM. Immediately after "software update" had finished it reboots. HOLD the POWER button and the "N" button at the same time for 10 or so seconds..release after the beginning message disappears. "reading if forever or whatever it says at the beginning". A yellow screen jumps up and it does the "factory reset"...Final note. Im not a NASA engineer. I'm just trying to let people know YOU CAN REPAIR YOUR NOOK IF ITS WON'T CHARGE OR BOOT UP. This is 9 out of 10 reasons a NEW battery is needed. The 1 out of 10 reason is exactly why Barnes and Noble will no longer be making e-readers and their Nook HD+ line will be the end of their run as an e-reader provider. I loved my Nook and in 5 years when batteries are no longer available I'm going to have to get a Kindle :(

poor battery life due to incorrect customer charging process on new battery
installation was easy if ones follows the DVD. Battery life was good for about 2 to 3 weeks, held charge for around 4 days with average use of the nook. Now 30 days later i am lucky to get two days of battery life with the same usage. The main reason I replace the original color nook battery was that it was not holding a charge for more then 2 days. Well this new battery is not much better. very disappointed with this product. I have tried contacting the seller but no reply at this time. Update on above review. Well I was wrong of the above review. I E-mailed the company and they replied with a set of simple instruction on recharging the battery. It worked, the battery went from a two day charge to almost five days of normal nook use. Very pleased with the results.

Lame Duck
In March 2011 I bought a Nook Color and after all the years and much usage the battery finally became pretty lame. So I took the opportunity to buy the replacement kit during a trip to the U.S. in January 2015. The exchange was a bit fiddly, but it was worth the effort. So I thought at least before I noticed that the new battery was even weaker. In fact I have to recharge the battery now more often than before the replacement.Looking at the other customer comments I think, my case is just a rare exception, but for me that's not much of a solace. (Especially since I dumped the original battery in the U.S. and can't reinstall it now back in Europe.)

Great product, not for the faint of heart
The product, tools and instructional video are good. It took me 30 minutes to figure out how to open the case, take the old battery out, replace it with the new one and close things back up. I am pretty handy and like doing this sort of thing and was visualizing some of my friends trying this and losing the minuscule screws and having a tough time with the whole procedure. tips:1). Spread a dish towel on the work surface and keep the screws together2). The battery in your Nook is glued to the aluminum tray. You have to forcibly pull it apart.3). The power leads from the switches and the battery don't slide int the sockets but rather push down from the top. Tiny and tough to do.All in all, they did a nice job of packaging everything you need to power back up.
