Perfect pad for working your chops. Would recommend for more advanced players with a good technique base as there is no bounce with this pad at all.

i just recieved my "moongel" pad, if anything this is one of the really cheap remo pads that you can tighten and loosen the surface of the pad, in no way shape or form does this look anything like the picture of what you are buying. this looks like what i have linked, the real moongel pad is at lonestarpercussion.com spend the extra money if you want the REAL moongel pad, because i feel like i just got ripped off Remo Practice Pad, 8-inch Diameter, Gray, Coated Head

Contrary to other reviews, this is in fact an actual RTOM MoonGel Pad. At least that's what it says on the back. It's not pretty, but it'll get the job done. In fact, it's kinda ugly and sloppy looking for a nearly $50 drum pad. It has the rebound of a feather pillow, and it's very quiet. The only sound is produced from the slap of the stick. Great for staccato practice.If you are a beginner looking for your first drum pad DO NOT buy this one. This pad could be detrimental to your technique if you haven't developed a good RELAXED legato stroke first. If you have tension in your hands, you're going to get carpal tunnel syndrome from this. Look for a gum rubber pad if you're new to drumming.

This is a great quiet practice pad. Also helps to improve form.

Very good practice to work on your forearm and wrist movements. Buy this if you need to practice on attack and volume.

I've played drums for maybe 15 years, and was recommended this product by an elite drummer that I had a lesson with. There is no rebound in this, so it's similar to playing on a pillow, which both Tony Royster Jr. and Buddy Rich recommends for developing precision. I find that it really helps for double strokes and rudiments that has diddles in them. You need to practice both rebound and pull-outs and this is an awesome product for the latter. This is not a Moongel pad. Even though it is listed as Moongel, it definitely is not. A check of the ROTM website at [...] confirms this is a cheap poorly made and completely misnamed product.
