Excellent and easy to use Glass Dip Pen Set
Great for an artist! Extremely easy to use! I recommend getting a water brush to spread the ink and water color paper. I'm extremely happy with this! I plan to buy more to give to friends and family as gifts. If you are a lazy artist like me the combo is the best for spreading color and creating with ease. The only negative I would have to say is that the colors aren't labeled. I numbered them as I used them to keep track of which was which. I used the set to create the lion in little time and little effort with just 2 of the colors.

Broken glass
I would gladly give this the whole 5 stars but it came with a broken glass, and no way to contact the seller. I dont think they had anything to do with it, but I would have liked to msg them and let them know. Other than that I love the set.

Beautiful set!
Beautiful set. The first one I ordered came with lots of broken glass. A quick conversation with Amazon customer service and a new one was sent out the same day, and I received the new one the very next day. The crystal pen works amazing, it writes very smooth. The nib selection is great. Will work perfectly for my Journaling. ❤️ 10/10 recommend.

As a Dip Pen Novice, This set is Ok.
I have been using Fountain Pens for the past 6 years or so, likely longer, and I have always wanted to try a glass dip pen. The main thing keeping me from doing that has been the cost. Most of the glass dip pens that I have found that appeal to me are artisan made and upwards of $80+. This makes them extremely out of my comfort zone to try them out. While browsing Amazon I came across this set and decided to give it a try. The TL;DR; : This kit is ok at the price. The pen is just ok. It works better with higher quality ink, but comes out of the box extremely scratchy. If I didn't already have polishing compound for knife sharpening I would have been annoyed with the feel of the pen while writing with it. This is why it is only getting 3 stars, the extremely scratchy writing and the overly watered down ink that doesn't flow very well and runs out too quickly at the same time. Get the pen with the knowledge that you will have to polish the tip, and use the inks for things that you are not overly worried about how they look. The longer portion: Out of the box: The pen felt very... plasticy. I have no other way to explain it than I thought that I was sold an acrylic pen and not a glass pen. After washing it, this feel went away and it feels more like glass so I can only surmise it is some coating that is left on it after manufacturing. The glass cup is the same way. Wash everything before you use it as I am not sure what it will do to the ink. The color/artistic nature of the pen is acceptable, neither blowing me away nor so crappy that it makes me unhappy. The ink is very watery. Like more fluid than Waterman inks watery. I'm already not a big fan of Waterman ink, so this is not a good start, but hey... $18 at the time of this review. The writing experience: The first dip and writing left a lot to be wanted. The tip was scratchier than my Moonman EF fountain pen, and the ink did not flow very well at all. Redipping into Waterman Black and the ink flowed better, but it was still a very scratchy experience. Looking under a microscope it was clear that the tip was not finished at all and was the reason for the scratchiness. Cleaning off the tip, I took my leather strop with some metal polishing compound and worked the tip until it felt smooth on paper. Once this was done, I used some 110 mixed media paper and wrote the sample text that is in the image. I wanted to give the pen and ink the best chance I could to see how the ink and pen worked, on a cheap notepad the ink feathered terribly but... cheap notepad. The Waterman ink felt very smooth on the pen after polishing. Waterman is Water Man, and not my favorite ink to use. The Noodler ink also felt very smooth and left nice thick lines of text. The kit's ink was extremely scratchy. I was concerned that the pen was in need of polishing again, or that the ink was just soo bad that I wouldn't use it at all. Then I looked at the text that was written. The ink that I randomly grabbed, not so random on my part since *nothing* is labeled to give you any clue of what you are getting!, was actually green ink with metallic flakes in it. That was a surprise! Although the metallic flakes are the culprit for a scratchy writing experience, the next bottle of green was still scratchy. It wasn't quite as scratchy, but still scratchy. The Verdict: The pen works, but needed some "tuning" to get a decent experience from it. The unit I received was not a "ready to go out of the box" experience. If I didn't have the experience of fountain pens, I likely would not have known that the tip/nib might need work and would have been more than disappointed with how the pen wrote. As it is, I am not 5 star happy with the kit, but it is an average experience and I am glad that I didn't drop $$$ on a pen that I had never tried before. Hopefully this will help people who are looking at this set. As a last thought, it may also be that the tip will "break in" as it is used, but I also feel that using the metallic inks will cause the tip to reverse to a scratchier state at the same time. This will be revealed through use though. Minor addendum. All of the ink is metallic ink. Also, the only blue ink reeks of bad eggs /sulfur. Definitely something off with this ink.

I bought this as a gift for my friend that really enjoys stationery and she loved the packaging. Unfortunately, the lid on one of the dip jars wasn't sealed properly and the contents leaked out.
