ATS501 - met expectations
I bought a new one to replace the 20+ year old unit in my RV. It's identical to the older one and was a perfect fit. Same connections and fit. The old one blew a circuit. If I can get another 20+ years out of this one I'll be happy. The old one that failed didn't allow the generator to power the unit but the shoreline still worked by default.

A must have device in an RV.
When plugged in to a campground with only 20 or 30 amp service, when wife wants to use toaster or Microwave and the A/C is on, meant we had to either kill some power device user or we would blow the circuit breaker. I would have to go out in what ever weather we were having or maybe its breakfast and we are in our pajamas. Would have to unplug from the camp ground and plug into the generator plug so we had a full 50 Amps. Then reverse the procedure after we toasted or whatever. Now I just click on the generator switch inside while she needs extra power and shut if off when she is through. This device senses generator power when it comes on and disconnects you from the campground by a large relay. When Generator stops relay kicks it back to campground power.

works great!!
This is exactly what a switch should do. I have a solar set up in my garage to run the man cave. the last switch I had would only run the house current no matter how I hooked it up. My goal was to run off solar until the battery bank droped off and then switch to grid. So now when the inverter shuts down because of low voltage it switches over to the grid and when the inverter kicks back on when the voltage is back up the switch senses the voltage and switches back to the battery bank. love it!! great buy.

Very happy with this item.
I ordered this for our Motorhome; it was exactly what we were looking for. The description on line was the perfect.

I bought one of these from a friend that ordered two and they work fine. I ordered another as a back-up unit for ...
Since this is designed specific for RVs with limited space, why not leave off the top and bottom mounting flanges and just put 4 holes through the back of the unit to put screws from the inside? This would save three inches vertically. The space in my travel trailer is very tight. I bought one of these from a friend that ordered two and they work fine. I ordered another as a back-up unit for Murphy's Law.

Loose screws.
This is a poorly made product. It arrived with corners damaged and screws falling out. Tighten screws works OK. Old one had loose screws also. Fit and it worked.

Works Great, but NOT a direct fit
The new switch works great in my 2005 Itasca Meridian 36G, but it was not a direct fit. I had to manhandle the wiring to make the slightly longer run, and the mounting holes were different requiring drilling into the back wall and filling the old holes. No big deal, but know before you buy.

One Good, one bad-Poor Customer Service from MFG
I bought Two of these units for my RV one for my shore power and generator, and one for my inverter. The one I use most has been working fine so far. The other one was only used for a few hours then it failed. My return window had expired to return it back to amazon since I only take my RV out every few months. So I turned to the Manufacturer as it was still under warranty. I told them via their electronic form that I bought it from Amazon and they sent me a new unit that has been working so far. I sent in the old one per their tech support. A month later I got it back in the mail with a bill for 250.00!!!! They had not even tested the unit or fixed it. And they billed me over 14.00 in return freight, after I paid over 18.00 to send it in!!! They said Amazon was my warranty not the MFG, and they voided my warranty. No where in their warranty information does it say they will not honor purchases from Amazon, they never called or emailed to say there was any issues with the return. And they already knew I bought it from Amazon before I returned it!!! Amazon was great in returning the unit and I got a full refund of 170.00 which included the restocking fee. So now I am out almost 140.00 after getting charged 250.00 from the MFG, restocking fees and shipping back and fourth!!!! I could have almost bought a new unit for that!!! I believe that Connecticut Electric / Parallax Power are unethical, fraudulent, and provide a have horrible customer service. I have issued a claim with the Good Sam RV action line, and I will be making reports the BBB for their area.
