Wow! What a great little drone for those interested in learning how to fly drones, and quite appealing and easy to use for the kids in your home as well!I especially love this drone as it nearly flies itself, and can be manipulated and steered without the use of the remote using only hand gestures. One key takeoff and landing makes it that much easier for the beginning novelist!I like how the propellers are protected in the cage as they are, as when anyone is learning, they'll be crashes!! This cage protection is nice because you won't bechanging blades as I've had to do with so many others! Light crash, no problem! Props are protected!The batteries are quick charging, and fairly long lasting, considering there small size. They slide in and out easily from the top and do not fall out during acrobatics or flips. I did have trouble with one of the batteries, but I reached out to Holy Stone customer service and they sent me a replacement right out! They really have an outstanding staff and customer service support for their products! That is something everyone can enjoy! Support when you need it!I would personally recommend not only this drone, but also the name Holy Stone! I have many of their products and love them all! They all still work!!

This is a lot of fun. Even if you've never flown a drone before, with this little guy you don't have to be afraid of crashing. I drove it into the wall many times and it emerged unscathed. The cages protecting the propellers qork just fine. Just pick it up and turn it back on and off he goes!!! With a bit of practice, it becomes easy to control. In other words, it is safe to fly indoors. But outdoors is much more fun, for novices at least. However, I'd keep it indoors if the wind is high. It is tiny, fits on the palm of your hand. It flies a few meters high and can do a few nifty tricks (which I'm still figuring out.) It comes with three batteries, each of which powers the unit for about 8 minutes. They recharge quickly.The controller is simple to use and comfortable to hold. Best part is, this drone is so inexpensive. If the drone bug bites you with this unit, you can move up; if not, your investment was minimal. My grandson is 8; I don't think he can handle this quite yet without supervision; maybe next year though. One suggested improvement to Holy Stone: print the instructions in a size and ink color that people can actually read.

Review of Holy Stone HS450 DroneThis is a fun drone to fly. Although only about four inches square it has surprising power which is adjustable to 3 speeds. It is recommended that first time users start with the lowest speed and that instructions are followed to calibrate the drone each time it is used which is a simple straight forward process. I am an experienced drone user but managed to "crash" the drone the first few times I used it since I was not yet accustomed to its speed and controls. No damage was done to the drone or to the things it bumped into. It is a safe drone to fly indoors. The drone is very light weight and the props are well protected. Unlike some of the other Holy Stone drones, the battery (3 are included) is easily inserted into the drone with no connecting wires to worry about. Inserting and removing the USB charging cord to the battery is trickier because of the small size of the port and might be difficult for a child under the age of ten. My eight year old grand twins had no difficulty flying the unit after a bit of coaching. Three extra propellers are included with the unit but may not get used since the propeller area is well protected by the guards. The one button take off and landing feature is nice as well as the automatic landing and shutdown when the battery is ow. Flying time is about 7 minutes per battery, depending on use. The drone responds to close proximity hand motions and is an interesting feature but one that will probably not be used by most pilots after initial experimentation. It is a fun feature with which to amuse small kids and non-tech adults. In summary, this is a fun user friendly drone at a reasonable price for most pilots over the age of ten although the instructions say for ages 14+.

This is great. It's fun, perfect for beginners, and easy to carry. My problems are with the battery life and the fact that after a while it just stopped working. Sure, it comes with several batteries, but it's still not much time. Mine quit working after a few days, too. That could be my fault, so I'm not sure. Overall, it was fun while it lasted, and if you've got 30 bucks to spend, and want a good drone, buy this.
