Actually using it daily
My wife has a tooth implant which has caused issues with her gums. Her dentist suggested purchasing a water pik to promote gum health. We're both pretty bad at remembering to floss (I'm good at remembering actually... but I still don't do it).Long story short, we ended up buying the Showerbreeze because of the high ratings and low price. And after watching some sales videos of people trying not to spray water all over the place with handheld and sink mounted options, this seemed like the most care/cleanup free route. We received one red and one blue pik. My package did come with teflon tape (another reviewer mentioned this was not included in theirs) and everything else shown in the product pictures with the exception of the suction cup holders for the piks (shown in the main image). It did come with a double sided tape hanger shown in some of the later product images which works fine, but is a bit more permanent and install. My box also included a toothpaste squeezer (took me a while to figure out what it was).Installation was pretty simple, just unscrew the shower head, and screw their valve in between. My shower head is the handheld style, and it took some fiddling with the gaskets the shower head used to have a leak-free install. Overall though it was a simple task which didn't require any tools, just some strong hands. The valve has three positions allowing for the shower head to be running by itself (one end), the pik to be running by itself(other end), or the shower and pik to be running at the same time (middle position). The valve can be adjusted around the middle position to fine tune pressure if you desire to do so.I've been using the showerbreeze for about two and a half weeks now, and my teeth feel pretty good. I'm especially glad we went with the shower option since it really does pump out a large volume of water into your mouth. I have well water and my water pressure isn't very high, but this think sprays pretty hard regardless. I'm afraid to use it on the pik-only (middle) setting of the valve as the pressure is way too high. I tested it out on the bathroom wall and my shower head's hose and it does a pretty good job of ripping through soap scum! You could definitely use it to clean your bath tub (6ft option to reach the back). With so high a pressure I'd be worried it would rip off the crown I have or something. It's not a bad thing using the shower & pik valve position though since you can have nice warm water running over you while you're working on your teeth. My next dentist appointment is in a few months, so I'm interested to see if my dentist notices any improvements.Overall I'm happy with the purchase. You can't beat the price and the company is in the USA so that's a plus. Not to mention that I'm actually cleaning between my teeth daily, something I haven't been able to force myself to do ...ever. I can't imagine doing this over a sink... but it's perfect in a shower.

Like the others, I have had a turn-around in my gum health.
I had nasty little pockets developing all around my molars and the pain when I flossed was excruciating. All my dentist could offer was a mouth rinse which was so horrible I could barely stand to have it in my mouth. It burned! That seems wrong.I had heard about water flossers over the years but didn't like the look of the sloppy Waterpik tub that sat on my parents' bathroom counter. When I found this one, and for a price I could consider, I had to give it a try. 1 year and 3 months after buying it, the pockets are very tiny indeed, I think some might even be gone. I'm not sure if they do that once you get them, I'm no expert here. What I do know is that, even though I do still need to floss due to having some very close teeth and enamel that seems to be able to pull plaque from the very air, well, things are so much better now. My teeth aren't wiggling or clicking in their sockets (man, that was creepy) and I don't fear, every time I get a cold, that the pain radiating from my swollen throat glands is really from a mouth infection. Yeah, I worry a bit too much. I'm dealing with it.I do have one concern, one that almost knocked off a star from my rating here, is that I now need to buy a new one. The reason I left it 5 stars, well, several reasons. First of all, I'm hard on stuff. I fiddle with it and wrangle it around and can't honestly say I didn't wreck it myself. Also we have hard water, very hard water, positively gravelly. And that is wicked hard on the plumbing. For reference and for those with hard water: what did happen, whatever the cause, is that over time the lil valve switchie began to leak, or rather to allow the tip to leak. At first, it took a few repeated presses to make the flow stop. Then it took a few to keep it from spraying over the shower door. Then later I found I couldn't turn it all the way when turning on the water flow, but I could still get a lot of pressure... I figured maybe I'd been turning it too far all along and damaged it (I used to turn it 180 degrees). From then on, the leaking grew steadily worse until it was always pouring out at least a little. It got so I had turn it further and further just to slow it down. Then recently it finally went too far, I could turn the switch all the way around and it wouldn't turn off, though I still can get the pressure high enough to use it.That said, it's definitely time for a replacement. It attribute the death of the old one officially to hard water and hard living. I do hope the next one will fare better, because obviously in spite of this problem I consider it worth replacing. If I had to buy a new one yearly, I'd still be saving money on dental treatments.
