Good midrange driver
I bought it for the following reasons: affordable price, paper cone, sealed back, with a pretty impressive 100W RMS power and no grid on the front side unlike a Goldwood GM-65/8I bought to replace my old 3 way "Radiotechnika S90" speaker's midrange driver 15GD-11A (made in USSR) result excellent replacement! There is no reason to compare, they are different classes: Pyle Pro PDMR5-5" is a well done midrange driver with great sound quality; 15GD-11A is single piece of metal, paper and rubber with sound like a phone handset. So I'm very pleased with my purchase. Now I'll get rid of my "Raduotehnika S90" and will build my own 3-wey speaker cabinet, definitely it will be with Pyle Pro PDMR5-5"***(3 month later) I already done speaker cabinet and the result you can see on the customer images.I use crossover 2-nd order with slope 12 dB/octave. Crossover frequency points: 750 Hz and 5 Khz. (bandwidth could be slightly wider, but I left a some margin)Frequency response is almost linear and balanced as far as I can hear (opposed my previous driver, which had terrible resonance overtone at 4,5 khz.) Sensitivity 92dB is more than enough for most of cases.I think this product has a good price/quality ratio and I would recomend it for most of buyers.sorry for my bad English

Used for my surround sound from some vintage speaker cabinets!!
My 1972 Advent speakers cones were rotted away so I purchased these and when I tell you these were the perfect one for these vintage boxes you would have to be here to hear them!! They sound so good!! I had to purchase two more to use as midrange speakers for my Fisher 1976 cabinets!! These speakers uses a 15 inch woofer with these as a midrange and horn tweeters and the original Fisher crossover from that era!! Again..you would have to be here to hear them!!

Speaker connection posts are flimsy.
Utilizing these speakers in a small set of speakers I'm making for home theatre sound system. One of the flimsy connection posts was broken right out of the box. Two more broke while attempting to attach the female spade connectors. I contacted Pyle's customer service, the only thing I got out of that was a reply stating I would be contacted contacted shortly (which 2 weeks and 3 more emails later never happened) So now I've resorted to trying to repair with silicone.

The mid range bass speaks to my soul
I bought 2 of these while trying to Frankenstein out my old Fisher xp65s speakers. The mid ranges weren't terrible, but Fisher speakers, I had read, seem to have hollow, almost dampened sound as per the recommendations of the designer of this brand of "bourgeois" speakers, as they are often cited. So when I added these in with little trouble, I was ecstatic to hear highs and warm lows that I had been missing before. They are really excellent mid ranges for such a low cost, and with 200 watts, I'll never need that, but why not! Sounds so warm, almost like a cuddle on a slow, wakeful morning, in your lover's arms, fondled and caressed by such ebullient and lovely sound, it speaks to the soul. Some of the best money I have ever spent.

On the fence
The media could not be loaded. I’m SUPER impressed with these. They don’t extend low enough to replace a 6.5 or 8 inch loudspeaker but when used in conjunction with coaxial speakers these are amazing. This speaker is stupid loud for a little 5” speaker. I’m using it for my Bluetooth shop system I designed. My only gripe is the frequency range kind of sucks, it’s super narrow.Update: as it’s breaking in, I’m noticing a significant amount of distortion. I have a high pass filter on this speaker so it’s not receiving Signal below its frequency range. It’s not the input signal either as there’s no measurable distortion when viewing the waveform on an o-scope.

Very good mid-range speaker.
This speaker is slightly smaller than the typical 5.25 inch speaker. Excellent value for the money. The description is correct in that it is a mid-range speaker. Do not expect booming bass sound from this speaker.
