Jesus Loves the Little Children

What an adorable way to share Jesus' love with your little ones!!
I have read several reviews complaining about how wordy this book is... it is a song!!! You sing it to your kids, and they learned it (repetition makes a difference). My 18 months old loves this book. We got him one when he turned 1 year old and we sing it together every night until this day.He loves it so much that I just got a second one for my nephew who is 3 months younger than my son. I am sure he will love it as well. The second book I bought, however, came with a printing error (some of the pages were upside down). I got in touch with the seller and he/she gladly exchanged it for me at not additional cost. THANKS!I will definitely buy from this seller again. I will definitely recommend this book for little kids as it is an awesome song to teach your little ones!THANK YOU Debby Anderson for your Cuddle and Sing Series... they are fantastic!

A few more details and reading strategy
I like that this book has the updated original verse with "Red, brown, (not "and") yellow, black and white." It seems to show one of each skin color on the first page with the verse. The other verses are about: farm land children (African culture), island children, desert children (Middle Eastern culture), cold land children (Scandinavian? Canadian?), mountain children (Central/South American), city children (multicultural city scene), tropic children, small town children (multicultural parade scene). It's a nice, sturdy board book that measures 5x5 inches.I'm glad this book has a different verse on each page. It introduces a young child to children who live and dress differently than they do, emphasizing that Jesus loves them all. It's a book that can span several years of your little one's life. As suggested in another review, sing one of any of the nine verse as your impatient new reader turns the pages. Children love repetition, but you won't be bored singing various verses. At the end of the verse/book, go back and point out the children you were singing about. Eventually as your child learns the verses and turns the pages more slowly, your child will sing with you and you can enjoy singing the entire book. Then your child will probably want you to be quiet while he/she "reads" it to you -- or another child.I purchased this off my granddaughter's wish list. Think I'll need to get one for my children's class at church!

Simple, Easy Message for Children
Growing up, I remember having this book, and my mom reading/singing this song to me over and over again. In the midst of everything going on, it's our job, to teach our children, from a young age that Jesus loves ALL the little children of the world: red and yellow black and white.. I'm so excited that I found this book and ordered it for my step daughter. The message is really so simple to teach children!*if you found this review helpful, please let amazon know by clicking the helpful button, below! Thank you, so much !!

Mommy & Baby both like it
I like it for its religious theme. I like it for its multicultural theme. I've heard that children need their parents to talk about race in order to overcome society's hidden racism, so I point to the white child on the first page and I name some of my daughter's white classmates, and I say something positive about them (for instance I can always say that Jesus loves them) The illustrator drew mountain children who look just like Ecuadorians. The illustrator drew desert children who look just like Arabs. I think it's great. My daughter didn't care about the book for several months. And then all of a sudden she went through a phase where this was her favorite book. We read this book every day for about a month. She liked it as much as Goodnight Moon and BrownBear What Do You See.

Just too wordy
I have to say I like this book less than I thought I would. It's very wordy for a board book. I know I'm supposed to sing it, but I don't know the tune and am not much of a singer. Also, my son barely lets me get one or two lines out before he's ready to turn the page (15 months). He loves reading, but this book just can't hold his attention for the 5 lines of text per page. The text is song-like, obviously, so each page is essentially a verse that goes something like,Jesus loves the [place, eg desert] children, in all the [places, eg deserts] of the world, a couple lines about what they do or where they live (like eat dates and ride bikes) and then repeats that Jesus loves the desert children of the world (or whatever place). It's a great concept, it's just too long for a baby/toddler, maybe a better age range would be 2-5 yrs old.

Cute series that my son loves
My son loves this series by Debby Anderson. (There are two others we have, as well.) When they first arrived, I looked through them and thought "these might be a little lame," but my 2-year-old LOVES them. The reason I didn't give it five stars is that I think some of the references in this book are a little obscure for a toddler and were just used because they rhymed. ("Eating dates as their sweet treat"?) However, the pictures are adorable and it's a good size book to toss in your purse if you're going out and want to bring a book or two with you.

Must have if you love Jesus and have kids
I love this book. It brings back so many memories from when I was a little kid in Sunday school. We would sing this song every Sunday. I love reading it to my kids it shows them God loves you no matter what you look like. God doesn't care what color your hair or skin is! He only cares about what's in your heart.
