Excellent Value Egg Cooker
This is a great egg cooker. The wife wanted an egg poacher with a aluminum lid that worked as well as the ancient Sunbeam that died after 40 years. That's a tall order. We have now used the Eware cooker multiple times. It has a convenient measuring cup. Half full, two eggs come out just right hard boiled. Slightly less than half of the cup gives a perfect soft boiled egg. There is a rocker on/off switch and a buzzer that alerts you when the eggs are done. This poacher also comes with a 3-egg poaching insert that we have yet to use. Some of the other brands, even more expensive, do not have this feature. Hopefully, we can give you an update on longevity in another 40 years! The Eware poacher is extremely similar to "brand named" poachers for considerably more money. The wife had plans on using a 20% off coupon from a box store. This poacher beat the price including the discount coupon.

The machine works fine but the water measuring cup with point to poke ...
The machine works fine but the water measuring cup with point to poke holes in the eggs is worthless. The point is made of plastic an won't poke through the eggshell without breaking it.

Now eating more hard boiled eggs and loving it
Living at altitude, boiling eggs has been problematic. All of the methods 'guaranteed to result in perfect hard boiled eggs' all seem to assume you're at sea level, leaving different altitudes to spend lots of careful time timing the various suggested steps to try to find the one that magically works.Enter this little gadget, where the step is pretty much 'measure and pour water in, then turn on'. The first batch, starting exactly with the water amount recommended, came out beautifully, with slightly soft yolks. So now if we need them slightly harder, we just leave the lid on a bit longer. Also, at one point, we stopped piercing the eggs and did probably 4 or 5 batches before one exploded, so for those wondering if its necessary, it certainly seems to help as that turned into quite the cleaning job!

Great poached eggs!
I've only used it for poaching eggs at this point, but they've been wonderful. It was a learning curve to find what worked to keep them from sticking. I originally used vegetable oil to prep the cups. The eggs stuck! Since then I've used both butter or solid shortening and that worked fine. I'll be trying boiled eggs soon. All in all I like it!

Works fine. Careful when placing the lid on
Works fine. Careful when placing the lid on. A slight addition on a screw head or plastic nipple will fix the dome sliding over the edge problem. Grease the poacher pan up well, or you will find it is hard to clean.

Great if it was all there
Love that it's teflon coated, my old one stained really bad. Did not get the measuring cup that it shows on the box. For someone who never owned one of these, that would be a disaster. I luckily have the one from my old cooker ... but I am still very much disappointed that the box didn't have everything that was pictured as included, hence the 3-star rating.
