Gash Hao Mens Hiking Convertible Pants Outdoor Waterproof Quick Dry Zip Off Lightweight Fishing Pants

I work for the USPS walking 10 miles a day to deliver thousands of pieces of mail and hundreds of parcels daily. When it is 100 degrees outside these pants keep me cool, when it is freezing outside these pants keep me dry.They look great, the quality is phenomenal. I have bought many pants here and after 2 weeks most pants lose their appeal and start pulling up or the strings start coming loose.So far these things are still on me. They are comfortable, stretchy and stain resistant. I want all my clothes to be made like this.

I've had these pants for over a year now, I wear them for work, doing yard work in TX, and they have held up really good. They are comfortable, breathable, and tough. They fit the same as when I bought them with no issues. Worth the price and I'm planning to buy the khaki version.I bought a size down (normally 40:32 - bought 38:32) due to the stretching waist and they fit just right without a belt. The length is perfect and sits just over the top of my shoe.I do recommend washing these on the Gentle Cycle. I saw some of the other reviews (before I bought the pants) about the thinner material and have always washed mine with other thin clothing. I have had no issues and these pants are still going strong.I have gone back and forth wearing the shorts with no problems. Just pay attention to which pant leg goes where. It might just be me but for some reason this threw me off. I'm still not sure if they are right, but they are comfy so I don't worry about it.I recommend trying these pants!

I am an avid hiker (writing a review under my wife's account) and have owned several hiking pants from prominent brands over the years. Usually, I wear then until they are patched and tattered. As a reference for this review, I have in mind my Prana convertible pants, which have been excellent.I am 6'1" and 175 lbs. Finding the proper length and waist on Amazon was difficult. The typical Asian small, medium, large sizes are not meant for my proportions (32 W 34 L). The Gash Hao fit very well.The fabric is stretchy and reasonably breathable. It is a bit thinner than my Prana pants, which I have found to be a bit too hot. There is some water repellency to the fabric, which I expect to wear off over time. The fabric is not prone to snagging on brush, like my Black Diamond pants.Leg was great. The leg width fits over my hiking boots.Convertible legs seem to be out of style; Prana no longer makes them. Nevertheless, I find zip-off legs convenient for changing temperatures and weather conditions over the day. The zippers are smooth and functional. The zip-off legs can be pulled over my size 13 backpacking boots, which is convenient when a quick change is needed.The hook-and-look (Velcro) closure on the right side cargo pocket is the most significant workmanship problem with the pants. Because the Velcro is not sew out to the edges, opening the closer requires two hands or complicated finger work to separate the Velcro. This is fix I can easily do at home by adding a zig-zag stich around the perimeter of each Velcro patch.The left side cargo pocket uses a zipper closure. The width of the opening is quite narrow, especially for a pleated cargo pocket. The zipper also opens by sliding it front to back, making it vulnerable to opening if the slider catches on brush. Reversing it for opening back to front would be better.I don't like elastic waist bands and the gathered elastic segments on both the left and right sides are uncomfortable. This is exacerbated because they same fabric used for the body of the pants is used for the inside of the waist band, adding to the discomfort and slipperiness. Even if the pants did fit snugly, a belt would likely be required to keep them from sliding off.I have loved the integrated belt of my Prana pants. I purchased a $4 cargo strap that serves as a lightweight belt. The belt loops of the Gash Hao pants are very large.I've used the pants on several hikes and a multi-day trip. They still look new, kind of like wearing dress pants, which doesn't fit the aesthetics of my other gear. Overall, the pants are an excellent value. The workmanship isn't as refined as other pants, but it also isn't bad. I might be concerned about consistency.Some features and improvements that I'd like to see, in order of priority.- Sew around perimeter of Velcro (Simple fix that doesn't add cost).- Softer and less slippery material on the inside of the waist band.- Wider zipper opening on cargo pocket. Also, reverse the zipper slide direction.- Draw string in the leg hem.- Sized waist band instead of elastic. Although with better waistband material, an elastic waistband may be a reasonable way to reduce the costs of manufacturing multiple sizes.Every product represents a trade-off of design and manufacturing priorities. The deficiencies I have noted do not significantly impact the overall performance.Overall, the Gash Hao are the best value hiking pants that I have purchased and are very functional.

As soon as these arrived, I ordered a second pair in a different color. The fit is perfect. There's elastic in the waist for comfort. These pants are a better fit than what they sell at REI, for half the price. I wish they sold them in a dark green.

Have used these pants several times on backpacking and outdoor adventures. They are slim, flexible, and comfortable. You can do just about anything in them and have the full flexibility you need. Bought a second pair because I liked them so much.

I was going to use these as my primary pants for a summer trip to Japan but after receiving them, I ended up ordering another pair from Columbia. These pants might hold up, but I just don't trust them, so I purchased a name brand pair as a backup. I was actually surprised by how thin the material was. To boot, the pockets on these are just made of out mesh material. I would be afraid to put keys and such in them for fear of creating a hole and losing my things. Overall, the pants just seem cheap (fragile almost) to me, but I haven't actually tested them. While cheaper than its name brand competitors, I feel like the price was a bit high considering how much these pants are reminiscent of those found on the tables of street vendors in Asia for much less.
