My experience with the Scriveiner Classic Silver Chrome fountain pen started off on a disappointing note but quickly turned into one of the best customer service encounters I’ve ever had.When I first received the pen, I was disheartened to find that the nib was not seated correctly. This resulted in excessive ink flow, hard starts, and frequent skipping—frustrating issues that no one expects from a premium writing instrument. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the tines were slightly separated, making me wonder if I had received a returned item. Additionally, it wrote more like a medium, though I purchased and expected a extra fine nib.However, this initial letdown was swiftly resolved by Scriveiner’s outstanding customer service. They were incredibly responsive and thorough, quickly arranging for a replacement. The new pen arrived promptly, and this time, it was perfect. The extra fine nib wrote exactly as it should—finer than even my Pilot pens—and has since become my go-to everyday carry (EDC) pen.Beyond its performance, the Scriveiner Classic Silver Chrome is a stunningly designed pen. It feels solid and well-balanced in hand. The chrome and gold finish exudes a refined elegance. I love love love the finial design. One of the standout features is the converter—it’s the best I’ve used, providing a smooth and reliable ink flow. Additionally, there’s a beautiful and satisfying sound and feel when you cap the pen. It’s a small but joyful detail that enhances the experience of using this exquisite pen. I'm impressed by the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating this pen.Perhaps one of the most impressive moments came after I had to set the pen aside for a few days due to illness. When I picked it up again, it wrote immediately, as if I had just used it seconds ago—something many fountain pens struggle with.Despite the rocky start, this pen has won me over completely. This is a beautiful fountain pen that is well built and writes smoothly. The pen simply glides across the paper. The ink neither feathers nor bleeds and dries quickly. The ink flows well from the nib and there is absolutely zero skipping. It would make an ideal gift.

Writes great. I'm surprised by how smooth the steel nib is. It may write a bit wetter then some of the other more expensive pens I own, but to me this is not a draw back. The cap seals very tightly. I would definitely recommend this pen. I have not yet found one better in this price range.

Heavy-duty, heavy and stable fountain pen for those of us who still enjoy writing with these instruments. Ink cartridges are easy to load and the pen writes without skips or big inkblots. An excellent product. If not used for a while, you will have to rinse the nib out under running water to loosen the dried ink inside, but that would happen with any fountain pen.

I own three different fountain pens from Scriveiner. Ive truly enjoyed their pens. They write amazingly, ink flow is perfect, and the nib glides over the paper smoothly. I did receive one in the mail with a damaged nib. They responded to my email and had a new one sent out and an order I'd within 40 minutes of the original email. And the original email was almost 6 pm. I don't think I'll ever change brands. Customer for life

The pen is beautiful but I keep having issues with it drying out, when I initially write, the ink takes awhile to come out, not sure why, it is so annoying, once it comes out, it writes perfect, I just wish I can figure out the initial ink dispensing.

This pen is solid and beautiful. I never noticed how bad my handwriting was using ballpoint pens until I started using this one. Its extremely smooth and works wonderfully. Its therapeutic writing and I will probably never buy another pen. There are two downsides. the ink RUNS fast if your not careful and its easy to smear, you also need to blow on it gently otherwise it doesn't dry, however, that's not really an issue due to the type of pen this is, so I'm not complaining. However, when your writing with the pen and holding it, the tip likes to come unscrewed.. It doesn't matter how tight you screw it on with your fingers. Its a problem when you're writing long sentences and you have to stop halfway through to r-tighten the head on your pen.

Updated Review:Scriveiner customer service responded and resolved the nib width issue. They quickly dispatched two new pens with the correct nib sizes I had requested. This time, the customer service was exemplary—timely, generous, and attentive.Based on this experience and the high quality of the pens with the nibs I prefer, I have no doubt I’ll be purchasing from Scriveiner again in the future.About the pens:Excellent ink flow, noticeable variation in line width depending on pressure, no ink leakage, and an impressive fit and finish. A pleasure to write with.Disappointed with Nib Sizes and Customer ServiceI ordered both Fine and Extra Fine nibs and was impressed with the overall construction and finish of the pens. However, both nibs appear to write at the same width — I compared them directly with a known Extra Fine pen, and saw no noticeable difference.I tried to contact customer service and was transferred to a UK-based line. Unfortunately, the line was busy and, despite leaving my phone number as instructed, I never received a call back.Ultimately, I’ve decided to return both pens due to the lack of nib variation and poor follow-up from customer service.
