Good
**Update**Firstly let me say the seller is good. I left a 1 star review originally and they hit me up twice with offers of help and so on. I didn't reply to either because I couldn't think of a polite way to tell them to hush up and that I've been doing this for 30yrs.Anyway, good packaging, lots of help, and comes with links to support sites/videos. I would personally prefer more robust instructions in pack, adding an extra step is fine if it's supplemental to the newbie and not essential. As an experienced grower with other complex trees grown from seed aged 2-26 I knew what I was doing from jump. Whilst the float test isn't always accurate, it is still indicative of what to expect. From the seeds I have managed to pop 3. I would be good with 1 or 2 healthy plants, so 3 (in my opinion) is a good result. The others that haven't popped will be given more time, and if they don't do anything they will go into corners of other pots to do whatever they please. Tree seeds are divas and can pop out of a gap in a wall instantly, or spend ages in the finest of soils, be patient. Anyway, I have 3 healthy li'll guys that are coming up just in time for prime growing season, so I consider this a win.*Original review*Welp, they came in a lovely little envelope. No instructions included, but there's links to some website or other (no thanks).Judging by the float test there's literally one viable seed and whether it pops or not is anyone's guess.

Follow Instructions!! And they'll grow!
UPDATE: August 30th, I am now feeling rather silly. I haven't counted but looks like at least over half of original packet has germinated. Folks even if you don't follow instructions these will grow eventually. But don't embarrass yourself to the seller complaining. Follow the instructions.UPDATE: August 17th, would you believe it the original seeds germinated. Planted them in late May!!!!!!!! I just urge folks to follow the instructions and not be like me. Watching YouTube that gave me wrong advice. Now I am growing the Seller's replacement they sent me. This time following instructions.UPDATE: July 16th - seller has offered to assist with extra seeds and instructions since they assure me seeds are top quality. Up to 3 stars will change to 5 stars if by following instructions it works.Original review below.Technically Black Pine shouldn't need stratification. However after the soak I did stratify for varying lengths of time.So far some 8 or 9 weeks into nothing. Can only assume the seed are unviable.Sad given effort spent.

Hello buddy black pine
This is my third attempt at growing a species of bonsai (first being a maple which didn’t germinate, second being Chinese Wisteria which is growing lovely). I am a beginner and I didn’t hold much hope of success, so spread some of my seeds (I have reserved half the packet for future use) between two tiny pots (after stratification), just under two weeks ago. The instructions stated a plastic zip lock bag but I made do with a (not fully transparent) sandwich bag. I sprayed the soil with water daily to keep it moist, and aerate the bag.I am pleased to see a lot of the seeds have germinated and will be replanting them in their separate pots soon.I’ve yet to see anything emerge from the European Larch pots, but patience really is the key!

No germination at all
Tried all sorts with the seeds with different methods including the one they advised on and had not 1 single successful germination.
