Cotz Lip Spf 45, .14 Ounce

Great balm! Currently one of the few lip balms with spf that doesn’t cause an allergic reaction for me.

My lips are incredibly sun-sensitive. I feel damage after less than an hour in strong sunlight. This product has prevented that swollen after-feel, AND it goes on sheer! I've been using an Australian brand that works, but is thick and white. It saw me through a trip to the Caribbean but the heat did it in and changed the consistency, so I needed to buy more. I decided that this was a good opportunity for comparing the options, as I was sick of 'looking ghostly' or going to the extra hassle of putting makeup over it. I bought three new brands to try, and this Cotz is the winner. I out-pale redheads and I have no issues with the tint. I can barely see it in the mirror, which means I put it on by feel and wind up with very good coverage. It may be that it works better for people with a yellow undertone to their skin, like me, than those with a pink undertone. I like the smell, which is sort of fruity. I expected it to taste just as nice but it doesn't, which is not a bug, but a feature! I'm less inclined to lick my lips and rub it off. The taste is not bad, just sort of waxy. It's not like I cringe every time I taste it. It's just a subtle reminder to leave them alone. Consider me in love.

I have been trying to find a lip SPF that I can tolerate for YEARS. I've watched countless video reviews of lip SPF products from skin care influencers, estheticians, and board-certified dermatologist. I can't remember who mentioned the Cotz Lip SPF (perhaps it was Dr. Dray?), but I'm so glad I gave it a try. My issues with lip SPFs (whether you use a regular facial sunscreen or a lip-specific product), is that they always taste TERRIBLE. Disgusting and bitter. Like eating weird chemicals or plastics. This is the first one I've found that doesn't have a bad taste. And at 45 SPF, it's a great level for sun protection. As they say, the best sunscreen products are the ones that you will actually use EVERY DAY. This is a new staple for me, especially in the summer.

I really like this lip balm. I recently had a close family member get (one of the milder kinds of) skin cancer and decided I should probably get a little more serious about sun protection. I chose this one because I've always heard that zinc and titanium are the superior sunscreen ingredients and offer broad spectrum coverage (as in I've heard this from various dermatologists and dermatology PAs I know). This was a nice choice and is more moisturizing than some other sunscreen lip balms. That said, it's not as moisturizing as a lot of other lip balms, but I look at this as more of a sunblock for my lips and the moisture part is just a bonus. The one downside (which i don't really mind) is that it will leave a clay colored mark on anywhere you touch your lips to (a glass, a coffee cup, someone's face, etc.). I'm a dude so I don't wear lipstick, but I imagine it's something similar to what my female friends talk about with lipstick smudging. It's not a huge problem, but something you should be aware of. Still a great choice and my lips definitely feel safer with it on!

Easy application, no white-streak, kept my lips moisturized, and helped to keep my lips from being sunburnt.

This was my second purchase of this product. I use this whenever I’m outside, either by itself or under lipstick or other lip color. I haven’t used it in water. Because my lips are sensitive, I need a sunscreen with only mineral active ingredient, and minimal or no flavor or fragrance. I also want a high SPF. This is the only lip sunscreen I’ve found that is these things, but also is tinted so it leaves no white cast. My lips are light pink naturally and they look about the same with this balm on. It doesn’t look shiny and is unnoticeable. It has a faint taste and smell that is neutral. It has medium slip and stays on for a decent amount of time. The balm works well under lipstick or other lip color. It is lightly moisturizing.

Does not irritate sensitive lips! I was missing my vanicream SPF since it was discontinued, this one is a great replacement!

i think it's a good lip balm, moisturizing and spf, but i wouldn't get it again because of the slight tint it comes with, it makes the lips look slightly tan/brown? also the flavor was okaay like an orange cream and it wasn't my favorite.
