Q: Is this dishwasher safe?

I wouldn’t wash the exterior holder but the instructions do say Dishwasher Safe.

Q: Would ground Cafe bustelo work or is it too fine?

I use it to for making brewed cocoa, so I am not familiar with the different grinds of coffee. But the finer the ground, the more it will get stuck in the filter, and the harder it will be to push the press down. If you push the press down too hard, the grounds will go around the filter and in to your drink. So, if Cafe bustelo is a very fine grind, I don't think a french press would work very well.
