Cloth Sandwich Bags - Set of 3 - Yummi Pouch (Flashy)

I wanted to stop using one-time use plastic when I pack my lunches for work, and bought both the Bumkins large snack bag and a set of Yummi Pouch sandwich bags. The price per bag was similar when I ordered them, and they are about the same size. A large sandwich with homemade bread fits, though if I've done an extra-large loaf, and thick slices, it can be a little tight. The Yummi Pouch especially is a little narrower at the opening and it can be a challenge to get an extra-large sandwich through the top while holding the sandwich together. Both the Bumkins and Yummi Pouch bags can be rinsed out easily in the sink. If I rinse them before I go to bed in the evening, they're dry when I go to pack my lunch the next morning. I like both much better than plastic bags. Even with the (minimal) effort of rinsing them out, a slightly larger, much sturdier bag with a decent zipper makes the rush to pack a lunch in the morning go more quickly and smoothly. I no longer fight with the fold-over flap and end up with pieces of fruit or bits of tomato from a sandwich floating around my lunch bag, and it seems like whatever I'm packing in my lunch fits more easily in these than in a standard sandwich size Ziploc. With occasionally oversized homemade bread, sandwiches wouldn't always fit in a plastic sandwich bag at all. I also sometimes ended up with a bunch of grapes or pile of cut vegetables that didn't really fit.The Yummi Pouch is my pick over the Bumkins bags, and I just ordered another set. I love the colors and designs. The fabric is significantly thicker. It still isn't water proof. Definitely don't use these for soup. But freshly rinsed and chopped veggies or fruit can go in the Yummi Pouch, and it does not get noticeably damp on the outside. The jelly from a PB&J or cream cheese and jelly bagel won't seep out of the bag. A sandwich stays fresh all day, and I've left a bag of carrot and celery sticks in the fridge for a couple days without any loss of crisp-ness.

These are great! My son's lunches and snacks stay fresh and we have eased up our carbon footprint.Many people throw these in the wash, but I've gotten into the habit of hand washing or throwing in the dishwasher turned inside out. They come out clean every time. So far they are holding up well and we've had them for a while.I love these so much that I plan to buy a second set for myself! They work great for race day snacks and can even be used for non-food items of the need arises.

These are good bags for different things. The size is great for many things- whether for a sandwich or snack or for storing things. I have used them for food and non food items, though I specifically bought them for food so I could stop wasting and using plastic baggies. They are easy to open and close, easy to wash and they dry quickly, and seem heavy duty enough. Are they airtight is the real question...and the answer is I do not know. I have used them for muffins and granola and other snacks and they have worked great, yet some times I won’t use them and will opt for a Tupperware so I know it is airtight. But they are a great product all around!

Love how sturdy these are, I feel like they stand up really well to frequent use. They are a thicker/sturdier fabric that the other brand I bought, and seem to keep produce I put in there (carrot sticks, cucumber slices, etc) fresh longer, and they don't dry out as fast. The zipper is good quality, doesn't feel like it will break every time I use it.I wish there were more variety in the designs! I would buy more! (Who am I kidding? I will probably buy more anyway, but the side of me that likes pretty things wishes there were more to choose from!)

Great way to store food without all of the wasteful bags. Good quality, and easy to clean. However, one issue that I have encountered is since these aren't airtight, sandwiches and crackers go stale if you pack your lunch the night before. These bags are perfect for storing fruits and vegetables, but not the best for breads or anything that can go stale.

I really like these as they are a really good size and very durable. The zipper seems to be of good quality and they are not flimsy. I use these for my kids snack for school and I can put a small plastic container and a fork in it and there is still room. The colors are just as pictured, very vibrant and don’t fade.

These are good for things that have no moisture to them (i.e. chips). I used one for carrots that had been rinsed and one for a sandwich in my husband's lunch. He said the moisture from the rinsed carrots leaked out of the bag, through the other one and he had a soggy sandwich. I used another to store 2 slices of bread for 1-1/2 days and the bread was hard. Worked for chips for a few hours though.

I got these for my kid's school lunch snacks rather than using plastic bags. We have used them for sandwiches, pretzels, apple slices and raw vegetables. The bags are easy to clean and have so far held up well with daily use and washing.
