Wasn't quite what I'd hoped but it works as intended. Color is as represented. Came wrapped in plastic which unfortunately scraped the surface with what looks like friction during shipping.It does have a very strong new plastic smell but it's not necessarily unpleasant.Just new plastic.It's that oddly clean smell almost like new car.I haven't exactly figured out how best to pit the knives in. It's just long vertical strips that kind of grab at the knife. I was expecting it to be a softer feel when you inserted the knife. Something that felt like it molded to the shape.It just misses the mark a bit for me. Looks cheaper than it is some how.But it is a great concept. Something with the seaming maybe gives it functional but not quite put together look.Saves counter space and is awesome for those orphan knives I've collected so it fits the bill.

This is the right size for a set of steak knives, and matches my red and copper kitchen beautifully.However, it has a chemical stench that is unbeatable. I tried washing it and sticking it outside in the sun for over a month, but while the stink diminished somewhat, it was still there (and transferred to my knives, which fortunately cleaned better than this holder). Interestingly, some people could really smell it and found it gasp-worthy, while others would sniff and say "I think I smell something... maybe plastic?" So apparently this stink is something not to which everyone is genetically sensitive. I'd hate, however, for someone to purchase this and hand their guests smelly knives without realizing it. Very unappetizing!!!

It was well packed and really beautiful at the first sight when I just received and opened the box. But this knife block releases "VERY STRONG" chemical/plastic odors. I washed it with dish soaps, rinsed with hot water, and then left it outside to air-dry. Unfortunatly the strong chemical odors didn't elminate or lessen at all. The base of the block I received was made of metal or stainless steel. There is no any material information on the box. I tried to check their website and it didn't exist (at least when I checked). Amazon page says the block is made of "food-grade safe plastic" and safe to be washed by dishwasher. I doubt about it.

Little more lightweight than I was expecting, but looks great on my dark counter top. Contemporary without looking "too" modern. Fits my collection of knives wonderfully, even the real long ones fit because I can put them in at an angle and they stay there! I was replacing a block with the little skewer-looking plastic things that hold the knives in place - this is so much better for your knives.

i was hesitant to try a round knife holder, but was impressed by the number of knives that fit into it and it took up so little counter space as compared to the block knife holders.

We have several knives in our kitchen, none of which really came from one set. We've had a few knife blocks in the past, but we were always playing the fun game of which knife fits into which slot, and the ones that didn't just kind of lived strewn about in our kitchen drawers. Not very convenient or organized.This knife block was perfect for us, as you can put knives of any size in it. (No more fussing with which knives can go into the knife block!)It is very lightweight, easily cleanable (the top comes off), and matches perfectly with our stainless appliances.Would recommend to anyone with a similar knife problem in their kitchen!

this is cool, is perfect, takes up less space than the angled "blocks" holds a set of steak knives as well as food prep knives. and we still have room for a few more!
