Tasty and inexpensive
They are tastier than many other, more expensive sardines on the market. I recommend it to everyone who uses sardines regularly, not for a party presentation. Sardines are soft and may fall apart if you try to take them one at a time. It is my thing to go for sardines for my Keto days.

Fish On, good protein, vitamins and minerals and low calorie too
Good source of protein, omega 3s as well as vitamins and minerals. I wish the sardines still had their heads on them; but that’s ok. I usually get 2 a can and then my dog devours all the rest. There’s usually around 10 small per can. All cans have pull top lids and the fish tastes good. My vet said sardines are healthy for my dog and they are a human super food as well.

Small, but very tasty
Okay, so I have always had sardines in oil before, never in water. I recently went on the carnivore diet, so those were no longer allowed. I did some research and found these, and for a much better price than what I was buying at Costco. When I opened them, I was a little surprised. They're tiny, maybe 1/5th the size I'm used to, but there's also quite a few more in the container. The image I've provided shows how they look, but it's a bit less than what comes in the tin as I ate a couple already. For taste..... Unexpectedly delicious! They are extremely flavorful, surprisingly fresh, and very, very delicate. I was not expecting them to be this good or have this much flavor. So in that regard, I'm very happy. One thing I had to get use to is that they're a bit messier than the larger ones I've had. They fall apart quite easily, but that's expected with how delicate they are. Occasionally though, their little spines would dangle from them and that's something I had to mentally get past. Once I did though, I actually liked it. Nothing wrong with a little cartilage and nerve tissue. It's good for ya! So yes, there are bones in this. They're mostly undetectable, but on my first bite, I did get poked in the tongue with a rib. But it is what it is, a sacrifice for good health, am I right? Overall, I am so happy with these, I will definitely be buying them again. In fact, because I'm on the carnivore diet, I will likely have a tin of these every single day. Great source of omega-3's, plus a whole lot of other nutrients. I would absolutely recommend trying this product, and if you have an aversion to skin, bones, or nerves, try to move past it. They're worth it. Again, I cannot overstate how delicate and flavorful they are. Product of Poland, and I must say, Poland lives up to its reputation for good fish. Well done!

Chicken of the Sea, Polish sardines in olive oil
I consume sardines for health reasons 3 times a week. I'm a long time user of the Beach Cliff varieties of sardines but this is the first time I've tried this Chicken of the Sea brand. I've never gotten into purchasing the more expensive varieties of sardines available, just the inexpensive bargain brands. I used to find some killer deals on Beach Cliff sardines on Amazon but I have not seen any deep discounts lately. I purchased two 18 pack cartons of these Chicken of the Sea sardines. One of the cartons was broken and had sardines spilling out, however only one of the tins inside was actually damaged in transit. The Beach Cliff sardines I have bought in the past are good quality and inexpensive. They usually come as 3 larger sized sardines to a tin in different flavors, and they also sell tiny sardines called sprats as one of their varieties. Probably the worst quality sardines I've bought have been those Chinese import brands. These Chicken of the Sea sardines are Polish caught fish. These are not large fish, but they are not tiny like sprats. The overall taste with the olive oil added is excellent, better than the more bland tasting flavor of the Beach Cliff varieties I've had in the past. These sardines kind of fall apart as you take them out of the tin, so you will probably need a fork to eat them. At a dollar a tin these looked like a great deal, however they added a lot of olive oil along with the fish, probably too much in my opinion. You finish eating the sardines and there is a lot of liquid left behind. Beach Cliff really does a better job packing the tins full with fish and not having excess liquid left behind in their product. Different brands of sardines have firm, whole fish that you can dig out with your fingers as a snack, however the fact that these sardines kind of break up and fall apart as you eat them does not bother me. I find this Chicken of the Sea variety with olive oil tasty and I may buy them again. update (11/18/2025) I'm finishing off the two cases I bought of this sardine variety. The weather is cooler now and when I eat these the fish are cold and the contents mushy. Some of the tins have better quality fish than the others. A large percentage of these Chicken of the sea sardine tins look better suited for pet food, not human consumption. The fish inside are totally mashed up and barely look like sardines. I would eat these in the summertime and the contents tasted better.

Much better than I expected
I was very positively surprised. I always avoided this brand because of its silly name. Normally I buy only the expensive brands like FishWife or Patagonia. After reading the reviews I thought let’s give it a try for the price you can’t go wrong! Very tight packed can, with lots of nice size Sardines, no mush. The flavor and texture was spot on! Not too much oil, just perfect for me. I will definitely buy them again!

Excellent quality sardines!
I tried sardines for the first time and was surprised at how much I like them. I eat them on my salad and in scrambled eggs. This 18 pack is a great value. It's a very healthy and quick source of protein. I will repurchase when they're gone.

Hit those protein macros
Buy these in bulk to supplement protein intake. Very healthy, last forever. They are little fish but look great, taste fresh. Cans don't leak. Get them and eat as is with some saltines or on a salad

Not much oil
The flavor is good. It smells fishy, but tastes mild and fresh. But, there is practically no oil. It's water with maybe just a few drops of oil. Virtually no olive oil flavor comes through. I've purchased other sardines in oil that contained a good tablespoon or two of oil, this one is water. The sardines are very mushy and fall apart, but they are reasonably large and meaty. This would be a good product if they just packed it in oil, like it says on the tin.
