Saved us in the early weeks!
There are no words in the English language for how much we loved the SwaddlePod! Our son was born a month early and just under 6 pounds, which was too small for the SwaddleMe (another awesome product). We came home from the hospital thinking that we had learned how to swaddle - maybe it's easier with the hospital blankets - but once we tried to swaddle him with our swaddle blankets, we quickly learned that either we suck at swaddling or our kid is a baby Houdini. At 3am on the first night home, after trying to swaddle him in every baby blanket we had in the house, including the too-big SwaddleMe, I desperately ordered these for same-day delivery and we received them later that day. Just pop the baby in, zip it up, and you're done - it was a lifesaver. You can even unzip from the bottom if you want to try for a ninja diaper change without waking up the baby.I think the weight range for the SwaddlePod is up to ten pounds, which was pretty spot-on for when he outgrew them. They worked really well for us because we had a small baby, so we were able to use them for about six weeks. We bought four of them (needed extras for diaper accidents, which were common in those early days) and they were well worth the cost, but if he had been a full term baby, we would have gone straight to the SwaddleMe, which I think would work fine for a 8lb baby. So I wouldn't suggest stocking up or registering for these unless you know that you're having a small baby - or if you don't mind your baby quickly outgrowing them. If you have a tiny baby, however, these are an absolute lifesaver!

LOVE our Swaddlepods!
THESE ARE OUR FAVORITE!! So easy to use, I wish they were available in larger sizes so we could use them longer!! They are so much easier to use than the velcro versions. They just zip open and closed, and they can even be unzipped only on the bottom half which allows for a quick diaper change while stil leaving the top half zipped so the baby is warm and snug from the waist up. We used these for the first 3 months with our daughter and the first 2 months with our son before having to switch to the velcro versions, simply because they outgrew them. But they are a true life savor in our home, we LOOOOVE our SwaddlePods!!! We kept 4 on hand at all times for those late night diaper blow outs so we didn't have to do laundry quite as often. We prefer these over swaddling with blankets because you don't have to worry about the baby wiggling loose. Both of our children liked to be swaddled with their hands up so, barley peeking out of the neck opening, so they could such on their knuckles, as most babies like to do for comfort. We tried a different brand with our first child, I believe it was called a Hoodini, but it had a very small head/neck opening and seemed much less comfortable. We returned it and have since given SwaddlePods as gifts to friends!

Why swaddle with blanket when you can just zip this up?
With our first baby my husband watched you tube videos to figure out how to swaddle with a blanket. I never mastered it. After a couple of weeks of that hassle we discovered these. Wow how much easier this is. Baby was snug like a bug in a rug and couldn't break free like when being swaddled in a blanket. Seemed to enjoy being in the pod and went right to sleep. This also a breeze when changing diapers, you can just unzip from the bottom and change! I plan to have these in my hospital bag for the birth our our 2nd baby. I have already bought these as baby shower gifts for two of my friends. I wish they came in a larger size as these will only fit baby for a short while, but they are a good price and worth the convience. The next size in this brand is a different style. I moved to woombie after these and then zippidee zips with my first.

Number one product for swaddling!
When my son was born, I was expressly told the importance of swaddling your infant to prevent them from waking themselves up due to their startle reflex. All I could think was, great, another product I need to review and test out in the hopes that I find something soft, lightweight, comfortable and hypoallergenic. Well, luckily I came across this product after reviewing many on Amazon. One of the greatest things about this product is that it has a double zipper that unzips from the bottom for easy diaper access to not wake your sleeping baby. The material is thin, stretchy, and very soft for your baby's delicate skin and mimics the feeling of being right back in their comfort zone. There couldn't be a better product for swaddling!

Perfect for newborns
We purchased these because my wife struggled with blanket swaddling our first baby. The simplicity of only needing to use a zipper really appealed to us. It was very easy to use on our newborn and he absolutely loved it from the very first use, he falls asleep almost instantly and for several hours longer if he has a full stomach. It's just snug enough for him to feel that sense of the familiar womb confinement, but loose enough for him to bring his hands to his face, which is his favorite way to sleep. It's thin enough for summer use, we put a standard baby blanket over him because it's cold in our house, that seems to be just enough. I think he's going to grow out of it in maybe a month or two but its perfect for phase 1 and we'll just upgrade to the swaddleme until he passes the swaddling phase. Definitely going to recommend to friends. It makes a perfect baby shower gift as well.

Not as good as a real mom swaddle
When my babies were small enough to fit into this, they needed to be swaddled each night to sleep. These did not work as well as actually swaddling the boys tightly. With these they can get their hands up around their face even if they are stuck inside the swaddle. This is enough to wake them up earlier than they would have if they had been in a blanket swaddle. Now if you just want something to offer some comfort to your baby during the day and keep them from maybe scratching their face then these are good. The zipper goes from top and bottom making it easy to change a diaper without having to remove the swaddle. My advice to you is to learn how to perfect a tight swaddle and just use a blanket. I swaddled by boys every night until they were 4 and a half months old and started to roll over. They slept through the night since they were two months old. Every time I tried an unswaddled sleep.. Sure enough they would wake up in the night.
