Mostly pretentious, except for Ruby Tandoh's piece.

A delight to read, for foodies and others
The essays are great examples of good (food writing). A joy to read, in the kitchen or anywhere else.

Thought provoking essays
Bought as a gift for a friend who loved it as much as I did. I particularly recommend it for the Ella Risbridger essay.

Moderate Pot-boiler
Nicely produced 175-page paperback, on good quality paper, a collection of well written and mostly interesting essays on or about food. Varied subject matter by writers I've never heard of. Good editing and material selection means you have a pleasant few nights' bed-time reading. When that's done, it's probably headed for the charity shop rather than the book shelf. Loved the cover. Took me back a few years to a cooker-gone-by.

An entertaining read.
Really enjoyed the essays. Bite-size pieces make it a good 'pick-up-and-put-down' read.Recommended.
